ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Is there an obvious (and forseeable) risk to members of hte public sitting/standing in the sun for so long during day time games.

If there is a duty of care owed to paying customers to ensure they dont increase the chance of skin cancer, a roof may be required.

Legal eagles................off you go

I agree that we should be sitting somewhere with better views, not to mention the fact that at the moment all the noise we make is being projected straight out the open end of the stadium .... if we are sitting either side it should help keep some noise in and make us sound twice as loud...

You guys could be heard from the corp box when singing and chanting. Drums worked well, keep it up jimmy
Was dead quiet down where i was sitting. heard the bay about once unfortunately

Are you deaf? We were in the corp box behind where you were sitting, and whilst it was not constant chants and singing, when it got going, it could be heard from where we were, many many times.

it's actually easier to hear the closer you are to the roof. down on the lower tier it's pretty hard to hear a lot of the time (i've wandered down that end a few times to take photos - including last year against melbourne just as clarky was fouled and the melbourne player - keenan? - was punted).

Jesus was not on the lower tier, he was 10-15 rows in front of the corp box

all the same, the the closer to the roof you are, the easier it is to hear the singing.

Whenever I've sat elsewhere in the ground, (including the CCLC/Marinators corp. box at the far end), I recognise chants because I'm familiar with them. By all means the Marinators are audible, but you identify songs if you pick up on the tune; it is by no means clear enough for the unaquainted to distinguish the exact words being sung.

Perhaps - if a little off-topic - this is why the whole stadium can join in with "Mariners, Clap^3", but not "Come on You Yellows" (which IMO is just as simple and should be easier to coordinate).... A giant banner of DJ's avatar might help?

having the bay resrved isnt a bad idea but i would like to see 2 or 3 bays set out for marinators and if you have a ticket to it you can sit anywhere in it also concession prices introduced.
this would reduce familys not planning on standing to sit eles were i would buy a membership in the bay and wen my friends come (usally different one each week) they could also buy a ticket for that area with out having to pay extra then if sercurity do a sweep of the area no one would have an excuss not to have a ticket. i could also suggest if you wanted to sit in the marinators some times but not other they never check general addmission so you can just sit in GA wenever you want to.

Just to add my 5 cents worth, I noticed a few people in bay 16 in my row continually getting up & pushing past me to get out of the bay to answer a phone, send an sms etc, then returning 5 minutes later. This was really annoying, because it was the whole group of them (about 5 or 6).

I don't mind people turing up in the bay for support, but those that stand there & talk all the way through the game shouldn't be allowed. People that are snuck in the bay should be there to chant.

Did you express your feelings to these people?

A couple of swear words were said, but over the chanting of the crowd, I don't think I was heard. Plus, I refused to move to let them pass after the 15th time.

Is it at all possible that these people may have actually needed to take these calls? I think they are doing the right thing by both the bay and the caller by leaving the bay to have a conversation.

Taking calls are fine, I'm just saying that (Probably to add fuel to the fire) I can understand one having to take a call, but the whole group going all at once? There was only the one person holding a phone up to their ear each time.

Also, I'm not venting, my point is that if we are going to bring people into the bay (they are totally welcome) don't we want them to sing, chant & clap with us? Follwing the rest of the thread, we need the noise.

If we want younger, newer fans then that sort of thing is to be expected.

They will be less engaged and more easily distracted than the truly committed.

Hopefully, this will change over time
