ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I think you'd have to be pretty blind or jaded not see some potential in our side. I also really like Hutch and TW - and honestly think, given time, they may be the best pairing we've ever had, and that if we stay behind them and they come good, you could easily see a lot of positive and stable years ahead.

That's pretty valuable. We're not high flyers. We'll never be able to poach the leagues best players and coaches like MV and SFC repeatedly do. So people with long term vision and commitment is vital and should be better valued by some.

Dibo's right, we clearly cannot afford to be in the winning is all that matters camp. I get it. But it's not realistic. Money ball is what we've always been doing isn't it? Just without the statistical support.

We do need a couple more signings and depth from what I can see, but I'm sure the club knows this better than anyone. They need to deal in reality and so should we. As long as they're being upfront and have a positive ambitious vision, I can accept any limitations imposed by reality for now. They're communicating well. We're 8th, but there's a lot of evidence of improvement.

Maybe in another decade we'll be able to have marquees and afford to keep or get back some of our best players instead of painfully watching them help other sides beat us. (the beautiful flick by olly really hurt and changed that game)
But for now it's about youth, culture, being entertaining and breaking even. And the players are clearly playing to win in every single game. I think that's worthy of support and respect. Those who don't, you'll only be happy when we're winning. But we're not Real Madrid, so throwing tantrums every time we get mugged by reality will only make your experience shit, and make it harder for the club you're supposed to be a supporter of.

Definitely need those signings, but maybe me being pessimistic me seeing what the club has dished, not holding my breath but hoping to be proven wrong.

I think we've been through some gruelling weeks, and having the media repeatedly talk us down, not currently getting results, injuries, poor refereeing decisions and knowing we're always cash strapped... lends itself to pessimism. But we have to keep thinking bigger picture. We don;t have any other luxury. So it's when you see what we're doing INSPITE of these things, that I start to feel really positive and proud of what they're doing and where they're aiming.

cant knock the two MV goals, that final backheel by Olly was just brilliant and the 2nd around , over and or through the wall goal was just freakish, nobody could of stopped that...I repeat NOBODY...as for us we had good first 20 minutes in both halves and a good last 6-10 minutes....having said that I was having flashbacks to Mossitis with all those huge hoofs of the ball down field that led to absolutely f**k all...i would imagine TW would not have been happy with that ....I'll be honest, I never expected to beat the Musc**ts...a draw would of been nice though.....friggin shame about Austin-CFW (Coasts Fastest Winger)...and the young debutant done alright ...and what can you say about Sim...he must only get paid if he scores or something.....OCH WELL Upwards and Onwards roll on the drive-bys and here's hoping we turn them into drive ways

No I wasn't
I was! Unlike some here, I remember it like it was yesterday. I remember it every time I see Brisbane play no matter who they're playing. I remember it every time we take the lead in a game.

I'll never forget that feeling of being on top of the world, then being in the dumps. I'll never forget the sound of that roar when their second goal went in. I'll never forget the feeling of walking out of that c**t of a stadium, having to confront the c**ts who make up their supporter base.

I recently starting following Anonymous on twitter (the hacking group who have declared war on ISIS - among others). I want to paraphrase their motto....

WE ARE MARINERS
WE ARE LEGION
WE DO NOT FORGET
WE DO NOT FORGIVE
EXPECT US

I was at the Cclc for the gf that never occured and I picked a 2-0 score line and for few fleeting moments I thought holy f**k we've done it...then there was a paradigm shift in the cosmos and suddenly it was Monday morning and the phrase gf? What gf? was the statement of fact

it is so refreshing to read so many posts from people putting so well a clear vision of both the positive work being done and the bigger picture. the progress and consequent good times are to my mind inevitable buy for some reason can't be seen by the wider community yet.

it really is an exciting beginning and in a time your average fan will be on board in a big way saying how great is this and forgetting how much they bitched and moaned during the teething stage.

As for the off field stuff?

When an organisation changes its culture there will always be casualties. People react badly to change especially when their status and influence is reduced.

That stuff is just noise and goes away when the bitter people do.

Having just spent 5 years in an organisation that has been rebuilding its culture based around core values, the one thing I have learned from our OCM (organisation change management) team is that people fall into 3 broad camps

Adopters (this change is great, i love it)
Survivors (not sure about this but i will comply)
Terrorists (hate it, toxic influence)

You cant fix terrorists in a group. find them, fire them, pay them off but they have to be got rid of as soon as they identify themselves.

So your left with yes men and women . Hence lean and other management big ideas have a 98% failure rate

I'm still angry about the f****** rugby tackle for their second goal, and the fact that stoppage time wasn't extended further despite multiple substitutions in stoppage time.

Well no, the survivors ensure that. They're in the resistant category but can be talked over. The problem is the ones that are so resistant they won't even seriously entertain the idea of change briefly, to better understand the reasoning. Yes-men can be detrimental but nay-sayers are even worse... The thing is that neither tend to have a whole lot of rational reasoning behind them.
Once that's said, i don't feel like the club is full of yes-men right now. They seem to be interested in quality feedback... If Reddys feedback was of the yell-at-the-coaches-that-they're-f***wits type, followed by sniping in conversations with the younger players especially, then that is completely unproductive and signals an unwillingness to even consider change... That is VERY unproductive and it just leads to general unrest in the change room... out he goes.
