Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Arnie very respectful about CCM then has a shot at our wingers who don't defend (his words)

So we know what he is scared of them.

In all honesty, I consider Sydney to be our real rivalry. Might be a season 1 thing. Newcastle matters but Sydney is a real dislike.

Strange as I work with a few Sydney fans (lots more turned to Wanderers obviously) and we are good mates but for 90 minutes..... I hate the bastards

EXACTLY how I feel.

Newcastle are like a very distant relative. A despised and inbred relative. But still somehow vaguely in the family. There's a kinship in our punching on. Whereas SFC... they really are the antithesis of our hypothesis... and they are THIEVES. The scummers may nick our hub caps, but they steal our silverware (almost literally) Always having to raid our cupboards because they have taken for granted and squandered what they have.

Or it might just have been Ufuk Talay and co... Anyway... thoroughly agree.

The Newcastle hate has waned for sure. I've skipped the away trip a few times and when we've gone up there we've either been far above them or both irrelevant.

I've never bought into the Sydney hate.

For a start, I live down here and have far too many SFC supporting friends.

For seconds, in my work I deal a lot with the club and the people are frankly pretty good people.

Arnie, Clarky and JC, plus Simon and Anderson? Yeah, not a good look, but to me it's not what I first think of when I think of the club.

Surprising fact? Terry McFlynn is actually a top bloke. Their Hutcho, without a doubt.

Do I want them all to be riven with desperation and disappointment on Saturday night? Like you wouldn't believe! I just don't hate them.

TBH, I think I find WSW far more irksome. They're like Victory fans, but without having done ten years of growing up.

A majority of Victory fans are thugs. Whenever the Heart v Victory derbies large groups either baited or attacked small groups of Heart fans (they never went after big groups like Yarraside). Lots of them proudly displayed t-shirts of Kevin Muscat's disgusting last act as a professional player. The Victory fans are probably more mature in New South Wales but they are bullying thugs in Melbourne.

I kind of feel like Sydney has often provided a better spectacle, and it's probably helped by the large numbers the Cove would always bring, compared to the Squadron (great memories of Bay 16 singing against an equally packed - or slightly more packed - Bay 14 full of Cove!). Or maybe it's because the Jets games are just typically so goddamn boring these days. The good relationship we had with the Cove in the early days may help with that. But with the Jets clashes....all too often we'd just try to hack them and play absolutely terrible football, but for the last few seasons they've just been dead boring games. Nothing derby-like about them. I almost feel like the Jets rivalry has died off.

I've always felt a big rivalry with Sydney - they've always been big games for us, and some really exciting ones too - but that's been a rivalry without the hate (which is as it should be). I don't have a particular problem with SFC, just see them as rivals.

I really hate WSW and MV, but that's because their supporters are absolutely f****d. And for me, that goes back to the start when the MV supporters were the only team who had no interest in socialising with other groups pre/post match. Too good for everybody else, and I despise the full 'ard attitude from way too many of them. MV supporters quite regularly assault opposing supporters, even if it's something minor like a shoulder bump as they're walking past, it's still completely unnecessary and completely crossing the line. It's the culture of their supporters being a bunch of 16yr old ultra wannabes. so not surprising there are so many who are physically aggressive.

As for WSW, you only need to sped 3 seconds on the RBB facebook page to see what an absolute bunch of idiots that mob are - that page is a complete embarrassment to the sport, let alone the A-league. But there isn't the history there for me to feel a particular rivarly. I'll just have a celebratory drink everytime they lose to anybody.

Speed? lol

To me, Wanderers are an irrelevance. The One Direction of made for TV football clubs.

In terms of real visceral loathing? Strangely, Perth glory.

No idea why, just everything about them irks me.

I think the Newcastle rivalry has died a little because they have been such a basket case for so long.
If they start pushing us it will revive. I still like having it over them though.

I have only disliked SFC since Arnie joined them and took half our club with him.

Wanderers I thought were good initially but then their fans saw "Green Street Hooligans" and like monkey see, monkey do they turned feral.
Bunch of fake, childish imitators damaging football. Now I loath that club.

I don't mind Adelaide and Nix, as for the rest.....me'h.

Even more so since Arnie stole from his former home @ CCM.

Newcastle on the otherhand, their supporters just steal from anyone's home that doesnt have decent security.
