ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I think it's important to distinguish between being dominated and letting them dominate. To me, it looked like a failed attempt at a calculated risk. After the second goal, we stopped pressing much - as usual - and let them play the ball around. It worked fine for the first little while, they sort of kicked the ball around ont heir own half quite a lot of the time, which was fine. the problem was that, after a while, it's like the boys forgot that that's what they were doing and just started dropping deeper and deeper and so opening up.
I think that's part of why it helped to get Matty, Fitz and Trifiro on... Fresh legs and keen to make an impact, they all fired up, threw the "gameplan" out the window and started attacking anew.. I think that sort of woke the boys up and got them going again.
What I'm getting at with that is, that I don't think it's so much that we've been outplayed at any point int he last three weeks, it's more that we've outplayed ourselves a bit, mentally... I think that the increasing cohesion is functioning to help pull us out of that sort of situation now... In that sense too, it's probably not a bad idea to have Matty come off the bench,, he's always keen and I imagine that it helps shake everyone up a bit.
See what you are saying but are digging themselves a whole they can't get out of.

SFC had them on the ropes early in the 2nd half & couldn't get out of our own half. Eventually conceded then managed to turn it around.
Japs - Never saw the otherside of 1/2 was until last 5 mins
Jets - Replica of SFC but held out & subs changed the momentum.

While our defensive structures are good you can't invite the other team to play in your half the whole time. Eventually they will score.

We were a shoe in last year when up 1-0 but this year when we have got there we couln't hold it & then conceeded 2 or 3. While we are able to stop that now & even respond again. We need to control the game better & not invite trouble over for dinner
