ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Watching the Kiwi games as a neutral, the commentary can be kinda fun how biased it is but when it's us, it's so god damn annoying. No impartiality whatsoever. Neither situations were a pen.

On us, another bloody draw. Clean sheet and not losing is a positive but need to be finding ways to turn 1 point into 3 if we wanna make the 6.

General Analysis:

  • Wellington Phoenix: They had slightly more possession, more passes, and more shots on target. This suggests they were probably the more composed and methodical team, attempting to control the tempo of the game and break through the Mariners' defence. Their higher shot accuracy indicates they were more clinical with their chances.
  • Central Coast Mariners: Though they had slightly less possession, their approach might have been much more direct, aiming to catch Phoenix on the break. Despite fewer shots on target, their solid passing accuracy shows they were efficient with the ball. The higher yellow card count implies they were more aggressive in their defensive tactics, possibly trying to disrupt Phoenix's rhythm.

Not unhappy with the point. We worked hard and our back 5 did a pretty good job.

The Kiwi comentators are pathetic. The first one was a close call but the correct decision the second one the bloke dived and was untouched.

Dylan 7. Much better game.
Storm 7.5. Probably my MOM
Kaltak 7.5 Much better. Good game.
Herrington 7. Definately has alot of potential.
Paull 7. I'm beginning to really like him as a player apart from that weird header back to the keeper.
Theo 6.5. Our most dangerous weapon but slightly frustrating again.
Steele 6. Did OK.
Eames 6.5. Did Ok.
Doka 6. Annoyed me today. A lazy performance overall. Reminded me of Rogic when he doesn't have the ball...i.e plods along and doesn't drag defenders around
Kuol 6.5 A couple of good moments.
DeLima 6.5 He is a good prospect but should have been a bit more alert with that Kuol flick on.

Subs....Fisal looked reasonable, Faijou was back to bang average, Sash had good energy but a bit sloppy, Edmo was decent.

No one stood out but no one was rank.

3pts Storm
2pts Brian
1pt Dylan

Credit to Chiefy for not talking shit like most gibbering Kiwi's.

So the two little clubs that were first and second last year just played a game that if you didn’t know the league would have thought it was the two worst teams. The pains of supporting small under funded clubs. Surprised people think we are generally playing well and improving. Jacko using whatever tactics he can to make this season not a total disaster. So that means negative defensive minded play and slow possession football. I don’t see anyway the Nix or us will make the six as we are just not good enough.

Watching Brian stand static with the ball for 30 seconds is so painful.

Luckily for us, Jacko gets the security of us winning everything last season while they don't. We've been forced into playing this way with player losses, while Chiefy's tactics worked decently well last season but have not changed and are the same as last season without having the players to execute it.
