Most of those balls in to the box were rubbish. The game plan needs to change because our strikers regardless of their quality just aren’t getting the ball in dangerous spaces. The attack is one dimensional and predictable, occasionally something lands our way but it’s easy to defend.

We need creativity from DDS and he’s just not delivering it. For now maybe that means giving SS a shot there but longer term we need a 10 and maybe need to look at DDS moving in to a more defensive role for next season.

The defensive lapses this game and some others have been costly but nowhere near as bad as our limp attack and right now I don’t think it would be any different if we landed a better striker. There are bigger issues with how we create our chances.

Harper disagrees on the quality of the balls in, but I'm with you. I thought the majority of those balls were poor especially considering a decent amount of the time there were actual targets to find and hit. Oar and DDS were the two biggest culprits.

100% agree on everything else re our attack also. I think I only saw one attempted cut back the whole game and that found Muzz and that could well have been a goal. Was a better chance than Berisha's first header.

I am getting over the structure that we are playing. 4-2-2-2 or whatever. Crowding the midfield is all very well but if the players there cannot play one touch quick football, nor control the ball, nor pass accurately there is not much point.
We cannot score and as Mick pointed out we leave open channels between the centre backs and the fullback positions.
Suicide.

When attacking us in transition, at least 70% of the time there is space to run at or into and good opportunity to get in behind or create an attack. Miller is young and is not always in position, Oar is rarely in position (Not exactly his fault Clisby is so bad though) and Ziggy is slow. Rowles had a shocker today but he's been our best. Truth be told, without Birra I think we'd all be banging on about the ineptitude of our back line a lot more.

Stajic hasn't got a clue send him on his way and try and find someone who know what to do with the players we have.

Jair eh?
Whoever signed him needs to resign at 9am on Monday

I thought he was useless, but I also thought we had much bigger problems than him on the park tbh. Who did you think out worst 3 payers were?

I invite others to give their MINUS and positive 321's for the day if they can be bothered.

which then raises questions about our signings....
I'd like to analyse that.
Again our team consists of too many bench warmer types trying to create depth.
We don't have enough pace out wide.
We have 4 strikers who couldn't kick the stuffing out of a cushion.
All in all the team is built to be narrow without the requisite skills to play like that.

I would honestly only keep Birra, DDS, Djuric, Kim, Kye, Miller, Niz (Im so f**king biased), Stens.
DDS needs to change his game, pass and move. Miller, Niz and Stens are good prospects.

Spend money on the first XI then find the gap fillers later. So for me we need a CB, LWB/LB, 2-3 wingers, 2 strikers. I know I was saying we're only a couple players off, a few weeks ago but f**k it.

I only watched the first half then took kids to beach.

-3 Oar
-2 Ziggy
-1 Djuric

Had to watch the replay. At 2-0 down I checked the final score and stopped watching. I thought we were good up until the 2 zip. Toothless but decent. Obviously don't know how we went after that apart from reading on here. How's Rowles luck with 2 own goals in 2 weeks.

Miller has a future in the game I think. Happy for Oar to move on. Really only want to lock down Duric and Birraz now and after that Staj can do what he likes with the rest.

It's January - please please please do as much as you can with the team during this window so we don't have to have ANOTHER rebuilding year next year. I'd rather write this season off and build for the next now than suffer this all over again next season.

Sorry but I disagree completely. Staj is one of the best things to come to this club in quite a number of years. People seem to forget the fact that we are already at the points total of the entire last season.

Also had fallen apart at this point of the last season. It was only when Staj came in we looked like a decent team.

Amen.
Simple thoughts and structures for a low quality team like us.

I think it’s matter of both perspectives.
Staj is a decent people manger (only question is fox handling),
Staj has helped scrape wins really only on the basis of other teams playing poorly rather than us playing really well.
I do like that even when 3-0 down we are not ending up at 4/5/6 - 0.
For now anyway.

But I think as fans we see the potential that players have and feel Staj should be doing better with them.
Kim, Duric & even dds have such potential to distribute the ball and create smooth attack but we have no width and are too slow.
Midfield is crowded and takes to long for Oar and Miller to arrive on counter attacks.

We definitely need a more even structure with more confidence and simplicity.
ANd of course some better players to surround Kim, Duric, etc.

I think the main call out is that when Kim leaves and we potentially loose Duric and god forbid Birraz gets a good offer and leaves we are on the downslope again instead of the uphill.
I can feel it in my bones like a lot of others I think.

-3 Oar. Crossing was terrible, actually he has been consistently terrible at crossing in his whole time with us. I honestly can’t remember when he has provide decent service to anyone.
-2 DDS He actually gets into some great positions but gee he takes the wrong option too many times. When he needed to pass today, he held onto it or ran himself into trouble or away from support.
-1 Stens. Not a great game today, needed to clear just before 1st goal. No power in his passing which made our play too slow.

Kim gets my 3+ thought he tried hard in both defence and taking control with the ball. But in saying that, I thought he has played better in other games just there was no one else I’d give 3 to.

2+ to Miller. He continues to serve his apprenticeship well. Only wish we had a PZ type CB next to him to learn from.

1+ No one else stood out enough to warrant the 1+.

Sad, and really disappointed in the performance today. Our defending was atrocious.

Boring Fulham.

You know full well he was a cheap arse Pikey option once he realised the 3 mugs he had as forwards were not up to A League standard. Pikey hoped is cheap arse front three would see us through at least until the Jan window.
It was clear that we were in dire straights so we looked for another (cheap arse option).

Am i a fan? No.
Am i gleefully deathriding him? No. I want him to come good. I can see a player in there but tbh I would not resign him for next year either. But that goes for Muzz, Matty and Mayok.

-3 Oar. Just horrible. If he was my son i would have hooked him at half time. That's in my top 5 worst ever Mariners performances.
-2 Kye. Has been great but today showed the awareness of a 5yo.
-1 Stens. Last years Melling showed more composure and passing control than Stens tonight.......needs a spell.

3. DDS. Played poorly but was our only chance at salvation......our only glimpse at quality. Silvera is a better player at 19yo.
2. Miller Also pretty sloppy but mixed in some good things. Ropey as f**k display but still better than the other dullards.
1. Wow....this is hard as everyone was RANK. Maybe share one point between Kim, Muzz and Duric. They all gave 5/10 performances which is better than most.

And he’s spent less than Okon or Mulvey I believe.
