First half good. Second half terrible. Watched Simon in NYL yesterday, went allright but is he the answer to our problems? Probably not.

Don't buy in to the FFA cup idea and if you can tell me that cernak, sim, trifiro, hutch and caceras should all be ahead of Monty then I'll give it away.
Only hutch from that list played DM. It's not rocket science , 5 games in 2 weeks, need a senior in all squads

The team showed more heart than the fans I thought. 5 to go, one goal deficit and we start "let's pretend we've scored a goal" and hacking on Bosnar? FFS.

Worse than pointless; it's hard to be taken seriously with that shit going on. And FFS, we've lost three matches against three sides who are frankly in pretty good form. Badly beaten in any of them? Nope. Are we not getting shots away? Nope. Are we close to the finished product? Nope, but looking better this week.

In the meantime, I'm much more frustrated by the mindless negativity and bullshit. I was far angrier at my fellow "fans" than by the performance today.

The side made some mistakes, sure, and the decision making in attack is still off, but if you listened to some in the crowd you'd think we're getting done by cricket scores. Complete rubbish. "Our season's over" at 1-0 down? Grow a f**king heart.

We've had two seasons missing the finals, this year *might* be a third. Count your f**king blessings.

I dread to think what would happen if we were ever properly shit. Imagine we were Perth, with years after year of actual crap.

I wonder how many of our fans would have stuck it out, based on the attitude I see around me around the ground and on here.

My thoughts exactly. Was ashamed at some of the fans booing the team at the end. Fans need to give much more respect to a team that is starting to show promise.

Fark.......some of you dreamers would be happy with 10 statues and a large turd as long as it was dressed in yellow.

Want to make an argument for singing "our season's over" when we're down by one with five to go rather than singing for the club you supposedly support? Knock yourself out.

Not so sure that the fans were actually booing the guys. I reckon the boos are more for the disappointing result, and not specifically directed at the players. Or at least I would hope so.

How about the PG's time wasting tactics in the last 10 or so? And our guys running to get the pill from the sideline and throwing it to the PG man. Epic! There's a real bit of enthusiasm there for sure.

It's Poscoliero *not Poscoglieri ffs. Respect, please. And he and Neill did play pretty good imho. Nice take on the guts by Neill from a Bosnar boot. Ouch. Bet that hurt. Same thing happened to Neill at Pluim but it was the opposition that time. He recovered well and contributed more.

right now i dont think moss knows who his best 11 are & that i believe is our problem.

I think we are looking at our undercooked pre season to be honest. We will probably get a lot better but it may be too late for this season & we will lose players in the off season for the continuation of what he is trying to build.

as I've said a few times there's a plan but it's taking time though showing signs it's progressing in the right direction.
none the less the second half was toothless and transition into attack needs some work. honestly Matt Simon is probably not the refined player required for where this team is going but he exhausts defenders and puts doubts in their minds with his chaos. in the early stages he'll be effective

Haters gunna hate.

We were pretty sucky in the final third but we played some really great football. I'm starting to see what Mossy is doing and I think is starting click. Especially in the first half we dominated. Second half Glory parked the bus more so our chances were limited. We showed great passion and some great stuff. Just couldn't get on the score sheet.

Our midfield is starting look very confident on the ball.

Posco was great tonight - he is fast. The way he mowed down Keoh was monumental. Not sure Ando is going to get a look in from now on and I'm glad. Neill was great to. Has a great first touch. Very exciting player. Rose better look out. Mane should have come on earlier and was good but final pass was lacking. Vernes showed a glimpses of his potential. Can't wait for more.

As for dressing room issues - I see none of that playing out on the field. They worked hard for each other.

Overall I walked away pretty happy. It sucked bad that we lost but looking more and more promising. Go Mariners!!!

Cue flame throwers!!!
and the cannonn too

Moss has had hard decisions to make. There are so many players that can and should make the first team. To add to this we have another game only 3 days from now away in Adelaide and then we have City away on Sunday and then WSW away on Wednesday after that. Crazy busy. Moss needs to manage the team and that means rotating the squad.

I don't have a problem with any of his choices. All his picks have played up to standard. I think you will find Monty having a full game in ADU and a few more fresh faces as well.

Perth missed two absolute sitters and Reddy made one great save. Probably a 2 nil loss would have been a true reflection.

Reddy 6. His kicking was very dodgy.
Storm 6. Did ok.
Bosnar 4. I wish his talent was anywhere near his ego.
Posco5. I really don't get what people see in this guy. He has decent pace but that's it. Positionally suspect.
Neill 7. Easily his best game. Still error prone but had a good positive game.
Fitz 6.5. Buzzed about.....at least he has a pulse.
Hutcho 5. Gave away the free kick when they scored. Gave the ball away with gay abadone.
Caceras 6.5 Reasonable.
Trifiro 6. Perhaps flatters to deceive. Butchered a lot of opportunities
Duke 7. Only Mariner with any balls. Left isolated as always and made to do two jobs.
Cernak 6. State league standard but at least he made some effort.

Subs.
Mane....dangerous. Bit of a headless chook but al least he has a go and creates openings.
Vernes.....looks exciting.
Sim......Made Hutcho look attacking. One moment summed it up for me.. he stood hiding behind a Perth player instead of making a diagonal run. The ball came to him eventually and he played a bad long ball back to storm and we lost possession. Horrible lazy park Football. What is Moss thinking?

Moss 1. The FFA cup has to be the only reason for his selections otherwise he needs a holiday.

And this illustrates nicely, one of the reasons why I don't understand your pessimism... So Perth missed a couple of sitters "they should have probably won 2-0 at least"... However Cernak's slip, for example, are entirely considered signs of how poorly we perform.
Why is it positive from the other team but negative for us? For them, they created chances, for us, we wasted opportunities... That hardly seems fair.

The negatives:

Cernak - too many times I saw him just standing around rather than moving into space. Makes it sooo easy for defenders.
Duke - can't buy a goal at the moment. Lots of running, often the wrong way. Some nice touches, but plenty of dodgy ones too. Needs to concentrate on placement, not on power. It's a wide goal - no need to always shoot at the centre where the goalie stands.
Fitzgerald - not his best shift tonight

The positives:
Better than last week - marginally.
If Perth are top of the league there is hope. I thought they were very average. Unfortunately that says a lot about us though!
Poscoliero - Some sloppy turnovers, but the way he chased down Keogh and nudged him enough to put him off his shot was brilliant. Starting to develop his partnership with his backs. Big future.
Hutcho - Great game spraying the ball all over the place looking for options. Great Captain's knock. Silly free kick that lead to the goal, but ever-reliable otherwise.
Roux - Good value again.
Caceres - Glimpses of creativity, but still needs to dominate more.
Neill - My MOM. From his first touch to control a lofted ball to the end he looked quality. Ball control and passing was good. Was prepared to attack and got past players like they were standing still. One dodgy cross but otherwise a great replacement for Rose.

Overall we were very unlucky not to pick up all three points tonight. Still need to up the tempo, fix the front third disconnect, and be more consistent.
