If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

yep, agreed, AU are lookin a tad clumsier than last year...I reckon we can jag a point at least BUT if we have a win going into Cantberra (thanks How Green was my cactus) vs Merrick Mauled K1w1s I reckon we got that one as well...going to the Cantberra game, should be some kind of fun
Have fun in Canberra Recky! Was hoping to make it up but funds don't allow sadly. I can't wait for the 27th (our first game in Melbourne.

We are shit, our results speak Volumes. But we are improving and Paul Okon looks like a good coach.
I am optimistic.
AS am I...the second half of the year will be stunning ...of this im certain

both teams performing poorly and looking to hit stride any moment.
AU, at least, should be performing better than they are so for them, any day returns to the form they had and are expecting (although as we know, sometimes that doesn't come). For us, we're improving every game and trying to punch above our weight.

It's easy to say that it will be whoever wants it more.....but it will.
AU with some players back in probably have the edge on us,but we keep fighting for 90 minutes and AU lose it at the end.

I don't know what I expect to happen this game.

Well, we'll have a blatant penalty appeal for deliberate handling by one of their defenders, that much is guaranteed this season, but aside from that I have no idea what the game will bring!

Berry starting over Tavares? Berry did berry well, but taveres is a berry good player and is berry experienced. Berry big call.

Sorry couldn't resist :innocent:

We need a lot from Berry now. Taveres has been the lynchpin in our best possession work imo - and monty is not the same type of player - can't be trusted to keep the ball under pressure like tav can and so it falls to berry.

Surprising about Tavares, maybe the rumours about Paulo not liking him are true? Michael Zappone did say he had a slight ankle niggle though.

What was Faty doing for that goal? Why would you choose the player on the edge of the box over the striker you we're marking?

Storm, Galloway, Monty and O'Donovan keeping us in this is. Monty has been everywhere defensively but his movement when we have the ball leaves a bit to be desired. Fabio looks out of confidence not working hard enough to pull a player from Storm when he goes on a marauding run.

Gotta say - we've actually looked outright good for some parts of this half as they've started clearing up the worst errors. Defence makes mistakes but doesn't look panic prone either - there's some hope in this.. God I wish they could get that last foot on some of those attempts though.

This halftime scoreline last season would mean game over. Today the same feeling isn't there. We've had our chances, and will eventually cut through.

I tuned in just after the goal...
would have loved to have seen the replay when Berry went down in the box clutching his stomach.
that free kick where we put 4 behind their line...looked interesting, and dangerous if we got the offside right.
On the flip side, lucky to not go down another one at the end. Poor defending to let him go, but good to track back and shut down the angle fast.
Stupid tackle for that penalty. Be grateful of the new laws otherwise that may have been a red.
As for our attack, I feel like Pain is struggling. He can't get around his man with the ball, and nobody is running off him. We look like we're not using our pace up the front, just jogging really for the most part. If we had players running off the ball then we could be cutting the ball back nicely. Our attack feels like a 'work in progress'....they seem to be working on ideas but just getting used to the execution.
Of course, we did cut the ball back and Fabio...well, he should have taken that shot.

For most our ball movement has been too slow. When we have move it a bit quicker we have got in behind. We just need a bit a luck, Powell was there abouts when Roy shot hit the post
