Fitzy looked great.

Flores touch is awesome but still looks heavy to me - Hence someones comment that he was gone with 15 to go which has been pretty much every week. I can see why he didn't fit at Victory (to quick for him) - Usually he is a fantastic passer & would never call him selfish but had a passed to an open Fitzy & the mood Fitzy was in it would have been 2-0 instead of him taking the shot at the top of the box & Skying it. It was a very interesting exchange - Fitzy had both arms absolutely screaming at him to pass it & was lets say unpleased when he didn't get it & I'd love to be a lip reader to see what Flores let rip with but it wasn't I scored twice last week wait your turn young. Flores was filthy. As play went down the other end Fitzy extended the hand & was not well received (the first signs of south American attitude/spirit/grumpiness I've seen), They then caught up again on the next break & Flores had calmed down a bit & they got on with it.

It made me watch him closer & there is a better natural instinct between Flores & Duke than Fitzy & Flores.
Flores & Duke are like a master & his puppy. The puppy is chomping at the bit for him to throw the ball & when he does he will chase it 100 miles an hour no matter where he throws it & will get there as quick as can be. Duke & Flores just seem to click quite well without needing much instruction. Fitzy & Flores just don't have that. It's something that can't be taught either sometimes you just gel with someone better than others (in all sports & all walks of life). Watch it it's interesting

Storm looked quite sound & was probably his best defensive effort. Remember his only payed a couple of games but looks good (Pedj who).

Dukey going to take a while to getting used to 90 minutes - Should have done better with that first touch when put through on goal.

Pasfield - Couldn't see properly as was in opposite corner but is it him not covering the crosses across the box that dangerously went straight across what looked like the 6 yard box to me that were asking for a tape in or where they good crosses (from Rose's wing across the 6 yard box in front of the yellow army).

WHO DO WE SING FOR (from YA point of view)
Hey PP that sounded pretty good but from I think you need to give some instruction beforehand .
Ie. The YA will give the call & we want you all to respond with "WE SING FOR YELLOW"
Then ask for them to point back at you.
Once you`ve got them going, then a bit more encouragement like"We Can`t Hear you"
Once you have them loud then play west v east.

Ps. You`re all doing a bloody awesome job!!

Err, no.

We in the stands know what you are doing, we don't need any instruction, and we just need to be able to switch attention from the game (if the call WAS made in a quiet period). Don't piss us off with the 'we can't hear you rubbish!

We were singing it when they were still Sydney fans.

There's a whole thread about it from 2008: http://www.ccmfans.net/community/index.php?threads/who-do-we-sing-for.313/

We had a huge argument about it then with people who subsequently defected from Sydney to join the Wanderers and are now in the RBB.

If they want to complain about originality now, we need only remind them that at least we're still loyal to our club, and maybe ask them what they did with all their sky blue merchandise or whether they got a discount for asking the tattooists to just add "Western" to their "Sydney 'til I die" tattoos? If a "South Western Sydney FC" pops up do they have a voucher to go and get the "South" added on as well?

f**k them and whatever they think, we sing what we want.

Would Flores have passed to Duke? Fitz was making the same run that Duke would make. It was an interesting exchange but my Spanish isn't up to it!

. i thought i saw flores single out fitzy and the wee-man for special hugs as they went off at half-time ... my take on it was an apology for not passing to fitzy and for buggering up the corner with the wee-man

. oh and i can confirm flores gives good hugs

Really good statistical breakdown of the game over at fourfourtwo.

http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/286076,breakdown-tackling-tiki-taka.aspx

They had the lion's share of possession and like three times the passes we did, but we had twice as many shots. They had all these passes and possession, but mostly in their own end.

Excellent read.

On Sunday night after the last game I think they call it the shootout they had a review of the game & showed the defensive structure of the mariners where they pushed AU to the sides & allowed a four man box to trap them in the corners while cutting off the dribble & pass. It also caused a lot of turnovers as like a double team in basketball when the defenders attacked they nibbled at the ankles, stole the ball & broke with pass with only a retreating back 2/3 to get passed from half way.
