Yes, your memory looks pretty good. All the breaches related to the 2005/2006 season and there were 2 separate investigations resulting in two separate penalties, with a total of 3 points finally being deducted for the 2006/07 season, those 3 points included the activation of the suspended 1 point penalty from the 1st. breach investigation. Also a 1 point deduction was held suspended in abeyance pending SFC's compliance for the following 2 seasons.. umm, i'm confused one of the links you provided states:
During the 2006–07 season, the FFA announced that Sydney had been found guilty of salary cap breaches regarding the 2005–06 season.
... so their breach in their toilet seat winning season was not announced until the season after which is as i remember it
. what i didn't remember was that they were pinged for subsequent breaches and copped the suspended sentence too ... surely that also indicates a systemic failure to abide by the cap rules
It does look like they had a systemic failure to abide by the salary cap rules, but the penalties were mitigated by SFC's co-operation with the FFA investigation. Apparently no such co-operation has been given by PG.
