What`s the alternative?

Well....we fixed up the goalkeeping problem...but we dont play him??????
We fixed up the 10 problem but we play his as a lone striker ...wtf.
We fixed up the reserve 10 problem but just dropped him???
We fixed up our useless, slightly overweight striker with little talent and no engine replacement of Sutton...but sadly we might play him.

Its a dogs breakfast of a squad but id put out this 11.

Bray
Posco Ascroft Uskok Rose
Baby Rose Monty
Garcia
Fab Bingham Austin

As suggest earlier by others I think you will see Ascroft man-marking Mooy. Like you I would like to see Posco replace Roux at RB but with McGing injured that might have to wait for another week.

I expect to see:-

Bray
Roux Posco Uskok Rose
Ascroft Monty
Garcia
Fab Bingham Austin

Trent to cover for Austin when he tires . Liam was buggered when he came off last week so I would try him as Luis replacement at #10, Finally Mickey to be ready to replace Ascroft when he gets into foul trouble against Mooy.

City have beaten us 3-1 and then 5-1 last time. We did get plenty of ball into the box and chances in the first 20 minutes against them. Ascroft man marking worked on Mooy for the first half but they still led 2-0 at half time. Mooy got a goal and an assist in the second half when the game was lost. Roux came off with 15 to go and we played with 10 for the remainder of the match as TW had used all subs.
With Novillo out it limits their attacking threats to JUST Fornaroli and Mooy.
I would rather us play our own game and take it to them, couldnt go much worse than 5-1 (could it?)
Fletcher lacks mobility but I would like to see what he could do with some decent service in the box.

Bray
Roux Posco Ascroft RoseJ
Monty RoseL
Garcia
Fabio Bingham Austin

subs: Buhagier, Uskok, Fletcher, Neill, Izzo

For mine I like Posco as a CB at the moment considering our options there, he's the smartest defender we have. Ascroft and McGing both do a good job alongside him.

Neill and Rose are midfielders if ever I've seen tbem and less so defenders. Much rather see them there. Roux has had some off games but in this team this season I can forgive him that. He has also had some great games and is overall a very good player.
I like this line up myself:
Bray
Roux Posco Uskok Rose
Ascroft Monty
Garcia
Fab Bingham Austin

Trent to cover for Austin when he tires . Liam...as Luis replacement at #10, Mickey to replace Ascroft ...
This or start with Ascroft in for Uskok and Rose in DM

Roux has to stay at RB, at least half our attack is through Roux to Fab.

Posco is killing it at CB and IMO is our No1 CB, he also is not good asa RB.

I'd go for the latter, Ascroft in for Uskok with young Rose as DM. Liam has been improving rapidly lately and i don't want him benched at all, he will have to learn to adapt to different situations.

I think he will bring Bing in, drop luis back to 10 and Neill to the bench. Whilst this is the attacking option i worry that we will get run over in the middle when monty is fatigued. Young Rose does not have a high defensive work rate. Couple that eith Fab, Austin and luis that don't defend and our backs may have their hands full. I will be amazed if under that senario he picks ashcroft, as that will mean huge work for the rest

Tony Walmsley could start promising youngster Trent Buhagiar this weekend
Central Coast coach Tony Walmsley is looking to his youth ahead of this weekend’s encounter with Melbourne City.

Indicating to the media that star import Luis Garcia will be starting the game on the bench, 17-year-old Trent Buhagiar may be given an opportunity to complete the Mariners’ attacking setup.

“We are tempted to sort of throw [Mitch] Austin, Buhagiar and Fab [Fabio Ferreira] into a three-pronged pacey forward line…and see how they cope with that onslaught,” said Walmsley.

There was no worry from the coach about the age and experience of the Gosford native, who has starred for the Central Coast youth team since being officially signed at the beginning of January.

“He’s definitely up for it,” claimed Walmsley.

“You don’t know how ready they are until they are thrown out there into the cauldron.

“Trent’s not the loudest kid…he wins the silence contest at the moment within the group, but underneath that quiet, shy exterior is a hungry player.”

The Mariners will also come up against one of their former club heroes in the form of Alex Wilkinson, who is likely to continue his starting role at new home Melbourne City.

With the centre-backs reputation and price tag growing since his 170+ games at Central Coast, Walmsley’s men will look to deny Wilkinson a first win back in the A-League.

“He made his debut last week and was a bit rusty…at least we are playing Wilko when he’s not in 100% peak form.

“We want to put him under a lot of pressure.”

City host the Mariners on Sunday with kick-off at 4:30pm

He is not great as a RB, agreed, but he is more solid than Roux defensively.

Storm Boy is good going forward but calamatus in defence.

While he looks promising he's only slight, and I reckon he'd get monstered by fresh defenders. Better to bring him on later when the defence is tired where he can use his pace.

Sounds like we'll have another "interesting" team this week (again).

I sometimes wonder if Tony is "on it" these days..
Still if we beat City Tony will be a legend.... like he was when we beat Perth.
He is a maverick......but he is so likeable.
COYY.
