Where was he 'supposed' to go and who wanted him?

Im awaiting the old cliche scottish football is detremental to development, long ball yadda yadda yadda he cant play well in that environment etc.

Mark Viduka got his shot in the 'shop window' so to speak at celtic, earnt his place, peformed well that allowed him to go on to bigger and better things. The cream rises to the top, it doesnt have continuous excuses and come back to the A league after a few years of failure as a 'marquee'

viduka was close to the best player in the nsl and a championship winner.
English football was a lesser comp. spain were a shit team .
times change

Celtic has a policy of signing young hot shots for cheap, developing, and selling them on for coin. The Pukki and Johansen signings are purely that and the club and Lennon have pretty much said that.

My only gripe re: Tommy at Celtic is that they don't really play with a #10, they stick more to a 4-4-2 and rely on deeper lying midfielders for their play.

He didn't have to go anywhere. Viduka owned this league BEFORE he left. Rogic hadn't even played 50 first class matches in his whole career. & now he is back here playing in a system that doesn't suit him for a coach that has no idea to try & get to a world cup that he wont be ready for.
Mark Viduka is not Tom Rogic. Completely different players, So your "comparison" is pointless. Rogic will never make it at Celtic. NEVER. They are a big fish in a f**king small pond. Put him in a mid table team in Germany, Holland, Belguim, Switzerland & he will get game time & he will learn.

What should have happened was he stayed here & earned his money later. I mean come on, our most talented ball player in over a decade & he goes to Celtic?

By the way, its not an old cliche. Scotsman.

Im reading contradictions here. You agree he has barely had any game time then claim our most talented ballplayer in over a decade. Im sure Viduka received similar praise but yes he did actually earn it.

If our 'greatest player in over a decade' cant make it off the pine for celtic what exactly makes you think he can demand to waltz right in to the run on squad in a middle table german club?

The hype around Rogic and pressure at home is unbelievable. He is a good talented kid he doesnt need this shit I wish for him the best but I think a lot of people are in for a reality check. But oh wait I see youve already got the excuses set to continue the delusion 'bad system' its 'muscats fault'.

There are a lot of commentators out there far more versed in the art of football than I who will tell you exactly the same thing.
For his talent to grow he is in the wrong place. & now he is playing in the middle of a front 3 at victory no where near the role he will be asked to do for the roos. Think Scott MacDonald for a player forced into a system that didn't suit his skills & vilified for it when it didn't quite work.

As for the words of mine you conveniently changed I said most talented ball player in a decade not greatest player. We've had hundreds of better players of the game than rogic over the last 10 years but none of them have been as good on the ball this early in their careers as him.
As for rogic, he is fighting for game time with players who have played many many more games of football than he has. They are smarter, fitter & more exposed to different systems of play. He is on a hiding to nothing. He should have stayed in Aus, dominated the local game, gone to the world Cup who knows where he could have ended up.

. ahh ... but what would have happened to us if a kid, who had only just turned 20, had the 'foresight' to turn down a big money transfer to one of the biggest clubs in the world?

. around this time last year we were struggling to survive ... and that was after receiving tom's transfer money. we may have been able to join the supporters of the knights, fury and palmer united if tom wasn't so 'selfish'

. anybody want to talk about the game ... or kevrenor dressing up as wonder woman?

We are struggling to survive at every time of the year. Tom's transfer didn't save us & at no stage did I say he was selfish. They are your words.
What I am insinuating is that he has been very poorly advised & who ever is calling the shots is getting it wrong.
Also I have never said we (ccm) should have stopped him from going. It was in our best interest to get money for him during his contract. Obviously due to our financial position. What I'm putting out there is that it was the wrong move for him & his future.
As for one of the biggest clubs in the world, puhlease. That's about as funny as Sydney calling themselves one of the biggest clubs in Asia.

. sorry if that is the way you read my post ... i was asking the question of the forum, just quoted one of your lines to ask that question - because so many people are bagging the kid (wrong move, only for the money, blah, blah, blah). i know we always struggle financially ... but apparently this time last year was as close as we came (after tom's money) to disappearing

. as for the biggest club comment ... how the hell do i know ... it is the way i always hear them described in the media - in terms of fans across the world i suspect. but that is all an irrelevance

. i'm more concerned about how we are going to play and whether i am the only one playing dress-up

Milligan will start off the bench so they still won't be a completely polished machine.

As long as we play positive football we'll be right.

didn't sieve give away a penalty against perth (scored) that almost costs us the NYE game?

Good on Tommy Rogic. Everyone who bags the move would have made the same move themselves.

Champions league team yet in a small comp where you are a chance of playing. Tommy actually got a fair bit of action when he first went there & was going ok for such a raw talent. He got injured (alot) & lost his place because the next guy who came along hasn't let his opportunity go.

He is training with class players & coaches. The only reason people jump on his back is because they watch him come on for 20mins for the socceroos & tear it up & assume straight away he should be starting for Real Madrid not wasting on Celtic bench (Exaggeration but you get the point) type stuff. He has always come into the socceroos injured or recovering & can't play 90 mins. This is why Ange has put on the pressure. You are quality but you can't waste a spot if I need a 90 min performance & you can only give 10-20.

He is here to get match fit but he has superior skills so get him ready. Once he plays consistently he will go back to Celtic health, inform & with confidence & might get more game time. If plays really well at WC they may sell him.

I totally disagree that is was a bad move & hopefully he plays shit this weekend & then starts performing.

He didn't lose a place in the team. It was never his. He got time in pre season games & games where Kris Commons didn't play, you know him, the guy who's played over 300 games for club & country over the last decade.
Take the example of Matt Ryan. He could have moved before he did. Waited for the right offer & now must be favourite for the #1 at the world Cup. He could be playing for rangers. Or not playing for rangers.
But you are right. Faced with that choice myself, I would be stretching the truth to say that I wouldn't make the same decision. Although with my skill set I'd fit right in there ;)

Yeah had not much idea of his actual reasoning for playing but he was playing or camoeing alot early & then injuries derailed him & Commons won't be giving up that spot without out his own set backs

actually BK his agent was pointed out as "an idiot" . celtic was not the only offer for reject .
once the error had been made and celtic allowed him on loan. his options to get games for world cup were simple .
tards no angie , a side very much on the slide ,no grantee of getting into the afc.
(the roar couldn't beat the thai's ,remember)
as opposed to a system he understood well and always adapts to the players available .
a minimum 6 afc games close to world cup time .
it's was a supremely stupid decision .his manager had an epic fail.
frankly I can't understand tom love here when he's made no noise's at where he would have liked to play.
he's a reject ,vermin to be ridiculed like muskrat etc

as I've said already rejects return on loan is a move right out of the village idiot play book.
he lives by his life choses .as bad as they clearly are.
