It's clear this team is growing in confidence but lacking in class and quality each week. After conceding five and not scoring vs Nix in the previous two games this season, I'd be happy to get away with a draw here, but building on form we *should* be beating teams like Wellington. They haven't won since they beat us in Hamilton on December 10.

I'm pretty relaxed on my expectations this year, but in spite of our lack of results against them this season, I'm expecing a win from this game... No Krishna is just an added gift.
Don't get me wrong, to my mind they're one of the teams that is seriously underperforming this season, considering their squad, but looking at how we've played the last two weeks, nothing less than a win should really be acceptable.

Whether the boys can live up to that though, I don't know.

Krishna out is a big bonus for us. Game changer really. I think we can do them now without him and the rebound factor.

They are our bogey team this year, with the two trial matches, two HAL matches not to mention the road trip to the Capital I'm sick of seeing us go down to this lot.

Unfortunately we haven't been the same team on the road this year, we grow in stature at CCS. Take us to Windy Wellington and who knows what Mariners team will turn up.

A win would be great to leap frog them on the table though. Without the two wins from us Bozza could rip into them even more than he already has.

You're right, the only way to have bipartisan and fair commentary in this league is to make the comp 5 Sydney teams and 5 Melbourne teams. Probably go a long way to fixing the refereeing up as well.

But really, even when Sydney were struggling, they'd say its just not good enough and a big club has to get back to where it belongs etc...

Someone has to fill the lower places every year. Criticise their football, roster, coaching, sure, but what gets me is that they treat it like its a personal affront all the time and question clubs validity and seem to feel its ok to besmirch them. I find it juvenile, depressing and boring.

New era, we used to love the under dog.

Tbf to the retards at fox we have brought it on ourselfs. An outspoken chairman who told the media your comp is shit and its doesn't matter if you come last.....and then proceeded to take us to last spot with reserve grade/youth team coaches and a pitiful playing roster.
At the same time the chairman is white anting want he has got by trying to prostitute us to anywhere in Australia that will give him a little bag of silver.
Paul Okon is a breath of fresh air.

It's a funny thing though, they're happy to go on and analyse the game to review and discuss the qualities - or lack of same - of the minor teams, but then you look at the fapfest they had over the WSW-Brisbane game last year, calling it one of the best ever in the league, because there were a lot of goals... Completely disregarding that both teams played absolutely shit games of football... It was painfully obvious from that moment, that WSW was never going to get anywhere near Adelaide in the finals, they almost made us look good and there were no recriminations... It's frustrating...

I think owning a football club is a steep learning curve for him and he is starting to get it right.

We finally have a top CEO and an excellent coach.

The ideas this year coming from the top have been more positive also. Stadium ownership, women's team, possibility of marquees....and not to many whacky ideas.

All the owners want to run the FFA, we will keep hearing that from them all.

I would say he has been listening to some good advice and overall definitely improving.

Hopefully Tav is in to take some pressure off Monty

Totally agree with you that Tav will make a big difference. I'm making the assumption that he will be in the team on Saturday, given he played the whole Youth match and seemed to come through unscathed.

The other one I'm interested in is his cousin. Last week Faty was listed as being out for "1 week". We all know those listings are unreliable, but I'm really hoping he is available for selection. McGing and Ascroft may be improving, but they are still well short of being decent CB's. Faty is as necessary to our chances as is Tav, and he will take the pressure off his CB partner as much as Tavares will take the pressure off Monty.

Tav s back you say .?....cool, monty can take a breath occasionally now.....and krishnas out, that can only be good for us , a win would be bonz but a competitive draw will do me, as long as the whistle blower and his flag waving f**ktards don't bollocks it all up again that is....oh and keep "The Archer" away from dot shots FFS

Tav covered a full 90 in Yoof League last weekend, I'd be surprised if he isn't at least a sub in Wellington on Saturday. We have no Yoof game this weekend so it would make sense to see him in the squad.

Hopefully Posco's not far off a recovery and return too after his GF
