R14 vs Victory

Time for our second win in a row!
On a different note we seem to have handed everything bar the gate takings to Victory. All around the ground are flags about Victory I think even if we are using this game just to get paid we should have tried to attract fans from the local area making it clear that it is OUR home game. Who knows maybe we could have attracted a few new fans...
Plus I'm not sure whether to buy away bay tickets or not because for all intents and purposes this seems to be a Victory home game.

If we loose Roy we are in big trouble as no similar striker to harass from the front.

Play Stella with Heffernan or Bingham
Or
Go makeshift striker.

Heffernan got the last 4 mins against Nix and plodded around like a drought horse. If it was me I'd be going all Roy. Worries me his effort levels. Does he not want to or can't? We need our so called best finisher on the field.
Or
Since we play better with 10 men just tell Heffernan to stay in the box no matter what and if a chance comes finish it?

Bingham time to step up and show he doesn't deserve the Duke treatment on the right wing

Team versus Victory.

Stella looks great signing.Heff just dosnt display any urgency. I don't think we will miss Roy.his pressing looks flash....but he cannot finish/shoot/dribble/pass to the standard we need to compliment fab/Austin.One great pass/assist against Nix. On occasions it looks like a competition between our front 3 to score from outside the box.Banning shooting from outside the box and crossing in the air. All shooting must be inside box and all crossing must be on the deck. These were 2 key components of Ange team /play at Roar.

Hopefully our recruitment team has found a Berisha/Broich for next season. With 6/7 signings under 21 from Roar/victory/heart.

Team to beat Victory.
BH.

Roux. Posc. Asc. Neil

LRose.Jake.Monty.

Fab.Bingham.Austin

Brady
Uskok
Kalik.
RoseJ.
Caceres.

Caceres is in to play 9. When Bingham tires at 60/65 min mark. We want to keep AC in the international shop window to attract a nice fee and a percentage sell on.

If Finkler/Valeri still out we have great chance.Victory defense very shaky and Bozanic no Mulligan yet.

Does anyone know who we have sell on percentages? All the players we have sent overseas and sell on? Or is this something previous management forgot about or could not negotiate? Were Lawrie and Arnie responsible for ensuring sell on percentages?

This worries me a bit actually... I was opposed to the idea from the start...
Not because I really have a problem with moving that one game, if it takes away the discussion about moving more - to NSO or similar.
But because I feel it sets a concerning precedent... It could quickly become another way for MV, MC and Sydney to buy an advantage... Throw some money at an extra home game or two each season, with the smaller clubs scrambling for the cash.
This sort os approach just feels like it supports that... I accept that it was never fully a home game, but it feels like we're arguably doing MV a favour - for money - but also letting them completely run the show, because they couldn't be ar*** sorting their own playing schedule.

Anyway, with that said, I'm also fairly certain that we're in for another thrashing... I'd have wished that we'd played just about anyone except for MV, Roar or WSW this weekend - I think we would've stood a chance of building on a bit of confidence from last weekend, but MV scares me.

I'd like to see a similar lineup though, probably with Bingham in for o'Donovan and see what we can build... At least I'm not expecting much, so I won't be too disappointed... But gee it'd be nice to be surprised :D

Roy was just starting to grow on me.

Will be interesting to see who is in the team.

Last weeks team deserves another crack for getting the win.

Will Caceras or Fitzy even make the bench? Is Caceras really gone?

When does the MRP convene?

*EDIT. Wednesday.

Ok, so we need a striker. Sorry Heff, but assume it will have to be Bingham. Because he can run.

Id like to see Heff get a chance. I have a feeling he might bag a few with good supply from Austin and Fab.

After the disgraceful tactics of merick and
The nix . You can expect muskrat and his chief muppet broxham to pull out every cheap shot in the book. Even money on a red card for us and broxham, bersia or delpierre breaking someones leg .

I agree here Wombat. I think if he gets good supply he will score more than Roy does although his work rate will be lower. He also needs a few games to get used to the pace, if we don't use him now then when?

I agree but could we compete with the defensive work rate of the three of them together? Heff was putting them away in his pre season trials. Bingham would be the like for like replacement mobility wise. I dont think TW will alter the formation or remaining players from last weeks team but if he was to tinker with 2 strikers again maybe Heff and Bingham can create the partnership that Roy/Heff couldnt.

I don't know hth I've missed it, but it finally sunk in that there's a good chance that Finkler won't be playing... Imho that's an enormous difference - even if the boys play like they did the last time we played MV... I recognise that Berisha wasn't playing then, but tbh, I don't thikn he provides anywhere near what he used to... Not that he's not dangerous, but to my mind he creates less than his completes - so-to-speak. I'm not saying we'll win it, but it puts me much less on the side of expecting a thrashing although if the defence offers as many opportunities as they did last weekend, I'm sure Berisha will pop some of them in...

I guess whoever goes up front will be a large factor in deciding this and I'm just not sure what I'd prefer... I have to admit that I haven't seen much to convince me about either Bingham or Heffernan... I like Bingham much better for his work-rate - playing how we are, I think we need it... But I like the prospect of Heff for his history of scoring goals elsewhere ;) and I have no idea whether that-boy-trent is actually ready for the A-league, let alone MV.

Perhaps Heff to start, when speed plays slightly less of a role, then a fresh Bingham on with a bit of leg on him, when the defence tires a bit in the second?

Is Stella actually ready to start?

Can't see us playing two strikers and dropping one of the players that performed last game. Don't see how Heff can play lone striker in our current system. We like to press and we like to counter?

:headbutt:struggles to keep pace with Fab and Austin as it is. So expecting Bingham will start. Unless :headbutt: is deemed to be acting purely in self defence. :popo:

RE Stella, well they say he's been training with us since November. Wouldn't think he would start, but you'd think with no less than 4 attacking mids out, he'll be on the bench.

I suspect that it will be the same starting XI except for Bingham replacing Roy. As for reserves Bray, Rose, Stella, Buhagiar & Heffernan
