ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

They'll be well up for it... but we knew that. And saying how it should be, is not the same as doing it.

Hard game though across the ditch and you'd have to expect them to be even more physical than usual and surely going to press us hard... obviously can't rely on the referees to protect us so we need to draw the fouls and not panic on the ball. Must not give their playmakers space and cannot lose sight of Krishna for even a millisecond and also the backline should be well advised to give themselves an extra yard whenever he comes near to cover his pace. Based on how many times he got clear the last game, we could almost do with a sweeper.

No Faty getting pulled up to high should help, but he makes good runs and is quick so better be ready

So if the squad has left for NZ and 2 were to be omitted, anybody know who?

No, but with Bingham omitted, I think this is interesting. Not a lot of attacking options to come off the bench which makes me suspect Appiah will be left in.

Guessing Peterson and Posc.

But personally I'd rather take Posc and leave Neil at home.

But does feel like it could go a few different ways.

I think they usually bring the guys that are omitted don't they?
I feel like I've seen Bingham on camera, at away-days, even when he hasn't been in the squad.

Anyway, I think it's a shame that he's been omitted - I really hope Roy's decent form doesn't cut him out altogether and I rate him...
Think Appiah is a funny choice though - much as I kind of like him - because he's covering an area where we've already got both Trent and Fabio.

Anyway, let's see what Paulo comes up with :) I have faith in him.

If Monty back, then can move Berry and put Powell on Bench as attacker to go with Fab.

The early team sheet is really a waste of time but CCM usually only take minimal players to NZ. Bingham probably to play with the youth

Yeah I didn't think they would bring the omitted guys to NZ or Perth to save on $$.
Big Al may be onto something, Okon may be looking to shift things around with Fab which is why a 3rd RM is suddenly an inclusion.

But what happens in a situation like with Perth two weeks ago? Where do they get the stand in that fills the bench?

I won't bother responding to the rest because I'm pretty sure most of us on here are on the same page (i.e. I agree with you), but let me correct the above. My post was a general comment about many people, both on this forum, on the club's Facebook page and *gulp* on the Members FB group.

I completely agree that we lack depth of experience and it's a major concern but I just find it odd that as a general feeling we've gone from smiles and rainbows one week (d. Perth 2-0) to gloom and doom across the board.

I guess what I'm saying is that it sucks that we've gone from talking about how great the improvement is from last season (which it still is) to how awful the outlook is because there are some injuries.

It`s a roller coaster ride at the moment.
I thought the boys did well without Monty & Tav in the first half but it faded away in the second.
It`s early days still with Okon in charge & I`m sure he would have spoken about the need to take advantage of being a man up for most of the second half.
PO still has a lot to work on & we shouldn`t expect him to be able to do it in a few months.
We`ll get better as the season goes by & hopefully we`ll jag a few wins to lift us to mid table.
In reality anything above 10th is a bonus.

Appiah over Fabio. Fabio has been getting game time and I feel he hasn't been using it well. give Appiah a few minutes and he'll give you lots of energy if anything. Something Fabio doesn't have atm.

Maybe on analysis PO decided he was responsible for shipping four last weekend.

Or maybe PO wanted a vastly experience custodian given that we are once again without Monty and Faty, leaving us with the youngest and least experienced defensive line in the A League
