ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

player appreciation......

yep agree, but TBF, they had just lost a semi, played crap, we lost motivation to sing in in the 2nd half, and they did start to walk over

well you lot all realise that the boys acctually read all the crap  that you put on this forum
and then you wonder why the boys stop  being  so enthuastic about acknowledging their  own so called "core SUPPORTER group".
they feel bad enough that they lost but to see it on here  from their own so called supporters now thats just wrong

maybe if you acctually showed some support for the boys WIN,LOSE OR DRAW maybe they will start to make more of an effort

maybe thats why the boys stopped going to post match did you ever that???

What a load of bullshit. I dont even know where to begin to point out how naive those comments are. Forking out the dough to travel to Qld to support the boys in a game which most of us knew in our heart of hearts was a lost cause seems to me to be the type of supporters the team would want to be jumping over the fence and dry-rooting... to be frank.

yer you may have gone to  QLD to "support" the boys but as soon as you get back or have access to the internet you get on here and bitch

was speaking to several of the players a few weeks back now and they are well and truly aware of the comments directed towards them on the forum

Sorry, do you put your hard earned dollars to travel the country to watch the team play? The attitude towards fans that travel away has always been woeful win lose or draw. TBH they are more appreciative to those that drive 100km either way to watch the derby games than someone who will of spent $$$ traveling interstate or overseas.

They are no better when they have won than when they have lost.

difference is we don't stop going to games...  i would call that supporting them win, lose or draw.  as some of the posts above say, spending the money to go to qld to watch a game where we were all pretty sure we weren't going to win is support imo.

i think it would have been nice if the players had walked over to clap to say thanks.  i don't think they even made it past the back line of the pitch.

it hasn't always been like that. i remember in the first season when we nabbed a draw away in queensland to seal our spot in the finals (and knock the roar out) and they all came over and celebrated like crazy. sully i think nearly fell over the fence at one point, so wildly (and sweatily) hugging everyone in sight in appreciation of our support.

these things matter. the fact that i remember that so fondly and a number of other times in the first season (PSC final and sydney away in round 4 in particular) is some signal of how important it is to me as a supporter. when you're appreciated your loyalty grows.

as a group i don't think we've been feeling the love all that much this season.

dru, yes i have have travelled to several away trips
but im also losing money for when i want to see the boys play at home and im not loosing one days pay im  losing 2 per game.
i have already arranged time off for the home legs of the ACL and i will be losing 6 days worth of pay to go to bluetongue and acctually  support the boys

i attend every  home game
and i support the boys and team 110%
i may not go to every away match but im still supporting the boys wherever i am and not giving them half the grief that goes on this forum!

uhhh i posted this knowing the players would read it and know how disapointed i and many others are......how hard is it to walk over to where we are.....i know they would have been hurting after such a bad run and going out of finals but we are in the same boat...and after most of us had a day off work flew/drove to brisbane in shit weather with a 2-0 deficit to overturn and still went it was a smack in the face to me..

Then they should read this and know that it is a very, very small number out of all the fans!  Too much is read into a few comments on here ...

Why the f**k did you put "support" in inverted commas? You are a fool... a nieve fool.

Players who let negative feedback effect their performance on or off the field need to have a good look at themselves. Maybe, just maybe, it might actually be warrented. Anyway, the vast majority of us give the management and the team the benefit of the doubt most of the time... sometimes too much of the time. Try reading the Sydney forum. Maybe that's why Sash left Sydney... and maybe that's why he's leaving us as well... too many negative posts (that was sarcasm btw).

I'm still bitter about having to walk out of that stadium on Friday night and endure the heckling of those orange bastards.... and to have some fool post a comment about what it means to be a true "supporter" just.... just.... grinds my gears

lol, you are crazy if you think we should always be positive of everything.... players are paid to perform if they dont they will cop flack for it, if they leave to OUR BIGGEST rival they will cop flack, if coaching tactics are questionable they will cop flack...thats why there is a forum a mass of difering opinions...
