ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Perth Glory vs Mariners

. having had my little rant ... i don't think that we have been playing entirely bad. even when we were winning monotonously we were not scoring big - most of our games were close (whether we dominated or not). the opposition do seem to be playing better against us though (as you would expect)

. we just need to stat getting all the little things right

. and has been mentioned above we need to see a more concentrated effort ... not in fits and starts (or ends as the case has been) but throughout entire matches. we have certainly played some decent football recently just not enough

. stop hoping rogic will do something magical ... stop watching the weeman go on a run ... offer them an option. at the very least it will put the opposition in two or three minds

. on the match, i will only say i feel sorry for matty and although the sun no doubt played its part ... i think the bigger issue was the 'top-spinner' generated from the deflection - that ball would have been dropping fast. perth cannot be his favourite place but he only made one error in judgement ... the rest of the game he was just as good as, well, matty ryan.

Matt Simon isn't the root of our problems. We took 10 from the following 12 available after Simon left on the 4th January. Let's not mythologise. I don't think it's Rostyn either, because we played without him with Hutch on the bench earlier in the season and did well.

Your statistics are more type used by politicians rather than scientific, which would clearly show that the sample size is too small and there are too many other variables involved to draw any significant conclusions.

I still think if you take 2 of the best players out of the spine of a team you can expect trouble.

Look at Roar, their three key players are Nichols, Broich and Henrique. Take out one and they still fire. Take out any two and they are not the same team.

Our Olyroos players seem to come back playing more conservatively but they are young and probably do not adjust well to different coaching styles and playing different positions as well as the emotional change from international back to club level football. This will add to the problem. However since Simon left opposing defences have looked more comfortable.

spot on bikinigirl. How many times did we gift Perth the ball yesterday....we passed it to them more often than to our own players. I agree with other posts that we just don't seem to give options to whoever has the ball.....so many times we pass the ball to someone and there is then no movement to make any sort of space. Obviously the heat had a lot to do with it yesterday (and most likely the travel), but there have been very few matches in the last 3 months where we have payed really well (and that includes matches WITH Simon and Griffiths).
having said that, I'd rather be in our position (2 points in front with 2 matches to go) than any other team.....
apart from Matty Ryan's one mistake yesterday, he had a very good game. he was very solid and the defence looks very comfortable when he's playing. I rate him as the best keeper the Mariners have had, and certainly the form keeper of the A-league.
