ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Just on the players selling Memberships, you see it every year on the AFL footy show. They show clips from the club offices one night and there is the whole squad on the phones selling memberships. Awesome idea.

I think that we're def. on the right track when saying that we need to offer more than a season ticket for memberships. Just have a '$50 Support the club' membership, no discounted tickets, maybe finals preference or something, but allow the fans to give the club money!

. funny they did this for v1 ... and it did actually bring some 'benefits'

. but i believe people were upset about having to pay for membership (in addition to their tickets) ... when they incorporated those benefits into the season ticket offerings in v2 it was seen as a good thing

. and i think having the boys on the phones (regardless of their career prospects after the game) is a brilliant idea

Anybody won lotto in the past few weeks?

Really though anything that sures up the future of our beloved club is a fine idea, especially those who seem football focussed

When he was the playing Greg Alexander (Penrith Panthers star)used to do small sponsor signings where they sold packages from a couple of thousand dollars. Their sponsor list was and is always long with this style of involvement where they organized golf days - dinners etc as part of the deal

There are so many other options for memberships rather than the 'season ticket' view. Sorry to go back to the AFL model but I, like it appears many other ppl on this forum, am the member of an AFL team. I have an 'over the borders' membership which doesn't give me tickets but newsletters, bomberland (club magazine), promotional items, and voting rights. It gives me a feeling of being part of my club even if I can't go to many games. A friend who is a Carlton member has a 5 game membership in which he can pick the games he wants to go to. I think this would be a great option for the Mariners as many ppl who are only beginning their involvement with the club do not want to commit to a season ticket. Give a reduced rate on game day tickets, some promotion material (perhaps a cap, etc)and the option for them to choose which games they want to attend. We need to get spectators thru the gates and the more exposure we can give these fringe supporters the better chance we have of turning them into full members. Just my thoughts on the membership question.

Mariners had something similar this season

Yes they did but I only ever saw this advertised over the Christmas period and my impression was that it was for set games. The more flexibility that can be given to prospective members the better the take up will be. I say launch this from the beginning of the season with the option to pick the games attended, then do another promotional push over the hoiday period.

Available from the beginning to the end .. choose your games. My daughter had the 9 game version. I hope they continue it.

As I`ve said before, a public forum with the Mariners, where supporters could voice their opinions in a genuine show of support to help our club would be a step in the right direction.

From the Terror

Turnbull was adamant the search for new equity had borne fruit "which will quickly sort out any cash-flow problems there are".

"We have been in talks with new investors and I expect to conclude negotiations within 14 days," Turnbull said.

...

Turnbull was also adamant that funding for the club's redevelopment project, including a centre of excellence and commercial buildings at Tuggerah, was locked in - including $10 million from the Federal Government.

"Building tenders closed on that last week and we are in the process of awarding those now," he said.

"The funding for that is not in doubt. On the football side, things are tight across the A-League. But we stand apart because we have a rock solid business plan."

I know it is sad to quote your own posts - but have we heard anything on the grapevine? The original post was 17/3/2011

I suspect it was the Indonesian or Middle East investor and they have been scared off by the lack of foresight and interest by the FFA. The FFA has a lot to answer for at the moment. Some of their decisions are preschool errors that in the business world would have you clearing your desk and being escorted out the door.

I dont think that this falls into the lack of foresight category. Nobody has any news on this so how do you suspect they have been scared off? The fact that the Indonesian representative plainly said they were only interested in player movements should not be forgotten here either.

On Thursday, the Sydney Morning Herald reported that Aburizal Bakrie, chairman of the Golkar Party, was interested in buying Australian side Central Coast Mariners.

Iman said that Aburizal’s intention was “to begin a cooperation with the club.”

“We just want to set up a program where we can exchange players with Australian clubs in order to boost player development,” he said.

Turnball did not allude to the potential investors being from Asia and the only person who has says he has a letter from the investors wanting the FFA to contact them?

The FFA have nothing to answer for in this instance.
