ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Let’s try and narrow it down and look at what criteria is needed:
- History of being involved in youth and/or developing youth.
- AFC Pro Licence to be able to coach in the AFC Cup. Or at least the assistant should have one.
- Cheap.

Cahn doesn’t meet the middle criteria as don’t many other coaches.

I hope Dick doesn’t “slip up” and appoint a youth coach in the national set up. Most of them are curriculum stooges.
Add that they must must live on coast which most coaches have outside maybe one coach that didn't live on coast

I think you'll find that Ben has his AFC Pro Licence.
He was directly responsible for the development of both Nizzy and Dan Hall, bringing them both to the club when NYL coach.
Main sticking point may be how much would it take to bring him back to the club that shafted him so badly before.

He left in 2017, got his pro license in 2019 and was shortlisted against Monty in the middle of 2021. So maybe there isn't an issue as far as he is concerned. He is too good a manager not to have an ALM job. I'd be very happy with Ben who has a great insight into QLD football and you would think now Victorian Football apart from his knowledge of NSW football.

The only problem I have is the OS network. We really need Monty and Serge, if they do go, to remain on good terms with the club and still use their knowledge of OS leagues.

Or need something similar - line Bernal and Muller.

In all honesty he needed to get the rangers or Celtic gig to get into the EPL straight from Scotland.
I think you are right. Alternatively a Championship gig. But since he is in the SPL he can still make a name for himself if Hibs come close to celtic and rangers on the table.

Christ, I am so worried about getting their replacements right here.

We've seen a lot of common sense decisions from the club recently , so there's no point in panicking over the Monty/Serge replacements ,
we are now a proper business - making a loss but on the up ,at least football wise . We have a language expert to help with our visa players plus excellent back room staff in place , as supporters we know who we need , I bet the club do too , a licensed youth focused coach working within a low budget (by A league standards ) , playing attacking positive football . Let's hope common sense rules the day . COYY

Last time we spoke he was very keen on coaching the Mariners. It was Okon that shafted him tbh.

alot of people seem to be forgetting we have the BEST CEO in the league

totally gutted to lose Monty and Sergio so close to seasons start, but Shaun has proven himself again and again in recent years

while not an ideal situation so close to league starting, im pretty confident in Shaun Mielekamp to make the right decisions

Then he needs to keep the chairman as far away from this as possible. His personal hiring decisions so far arent great. (NYL fiasco for starters)
Then SM can simply call Ben Cahn and ask him his preferred start date.
(You know, qualified successful youth development coach)
