ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

It'll be interesting to see what our crowd is next week.
There's the Bosnich factor. There's also the fact that most of the local football community can't go at 3pm on a Sunday afternoon.
Who f**ked that up FFA or us ?

4,222 wow they cant pull a crowd anywhere can they??

Campelltown is obviously too far from E Subs where they all come from. W Syd just hates the bastards

i don't reckon we'll do a lot better than that, and we may not get better than that at all. and that's at our regular home ground, not somewhere 50km away.

...and there's your explanation.

ally and i can't make it because of football, a helluva lot of the rest of the fanbase will be in the same boat. then add in the fact that there's next to no publicity...

Wasn't it reported that we pulled more than 4,222 playing in Canberra?
You may well be right, particularly with early sunday arvo time slot issue, but regardless whether we match or even only get 2,111 (Which I still think we'll better) it's just the old population ratio argument.

The interesting point is probably what Greenpole mentioned and the actual demographic they still aren't reaching. Pretty tragic after three seasons. Especially with the publicity SFC has been putting in motion, just really makes me wonder whether their marketing/brand is going to ever match and reach their market.

Another factor which is hard to judge is the fact that a lot of football fans couldn't give a toss about pre season games.Add to that the fact that pre season here we're playing against the same teams we play at least 3 times during the season. At least in Europe they can arrange friendlys and tournaments against teams from other nations which makes it more interesting.
Personally I'll be there next week but only because it's just down the road.I wouldn't travel very far for a pre season game.
Give me the real stuff and I'll rearrange my life to go....ask the Mrs...it pisses her off big time!!!

Jesus

Jesus
dammit. I thought we were playing saturday night. Now have to rush back from sydney. But should still be at the game.
