ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

A player goes down injured, he must remain off the pitch for 5 minutes unless substituted. That way teams who dive will find themselves at big disavantages.

But most of the time they're just pretending to fall over or they fall over way too easily. The affect of going off for 5 minutes if injured will be that they fall over and get straight back up. Granted, that would be better, but it wouldn't stop the free kicks being given to players that fall over on purpose. Thats what frustrates me.

I think that Union & League will eventually merge, which is when they will become a force.

I can see where you're coming from, but I don't think this will happen........... and if it does, it will only be in this country.

Thing is, Union is quite strong in Europe, especially in the U.K., Ireland, France, and Italy.  Not to mention Japan, Argentina, South Africa, and the US College system.  The problem here for League is that aside from England, they practically don't even exist in those other countries.  So you've got to ask "what does the IRB have to gain by unifying the rules of both codes??"    Answer is............ well, nothing really.  It's a whole lot of heartache for the IRB to gain a stronger market share in Australia.  And nowhere else.

Like I said earlier, as long as the 'old boys' network survives, Union survives.

And dont forget that in the UK, League is played in 2 counties (pretty much) and is largely ignored by the majority of the population.
