looks like some sponsors are getting cold feet following the broncos saga and several off field incidents in the last year with players sacked (according to channel 10 news)... cant wait for the nrl season to be over!

According to Hadley on 2GB this morning.

1 of the players was in the gents with the girl and she was going down on him. He txt'd the other 2 to join him (which they did) and an as yet unamed 4th player filmed it on his mobile.

Interestingly, no one has denied that it happened, just that it may have been consensual (whatever floats ur boat I suppose. Being roasted in a gents cubicle doesnt sound like too much fun to me).

Class acts, class sport.

most other reports say that the 3 players went to toilets where she engaged in oral sex with all 3 which then lead to intercourse with 2 and the third then pulled out the phone

I suppose the point is do these people have a morals clause in their contracts??

Presumably they dont or the Bronco's are stringing it out until their season is over.

That validates their behaviour and shows the attitudes of the clubs.

Obviously they need our no DH policy

If proven to be true it shall be interesting as brisbane have proved in the past that they will not tolerate poor behaviour from their players, tearing up contracts of players who incidents which are minor compared to this

even if it was consensual what happened is completely against the image befitting of a "professional" sports organisation... what pissed me off also was the qld police minister brushing it off and telling fans to get behind the team and all players will be available to play against melbourne...

i honestly dont understand why people keep following this stupid sport, when are people going to realise what messages this sends to kids... there is no way in hell ill ever let my son play RL, not that he would we are a football family :D

you would assume that if it was all consensual it would not be sexual assualt, it might even be more of a copyright issue haha.. non the less this should not happen in professional sports.

Of course, she could also have been sexually assaulted and not some skank on the make.........

Maybe we should defer judging her until we know. The Qld police minister/minister for sport probably set womens rights back 20 years today.

I'd imagine the police tasked with investigating the matter would be mightily happy about the Qld. Minister's comments. Bordering on interferring with a Police investigation.

Mind you, Gallop's call for clubs to have 7 day control over their players is a bit wrong too. At some point the players as individuals have to accept responsibility for their own actions, they can't have minders with them 24/7. And they are entitled to their own time away from 'work', although I'd say this sort of after hours pursuit is not conducive to a continuing career in professional sport.

agreed, because a football player has never engaged in an orgy or sexual assaulted a female.

He should not need to say that. But the clubs are not keeping players in line. If the clubs said any of these incidents and you are gone and are getting fined massively, they would dissapear. At least greatly diminish. But the tolerance is leading to its continuation and growth. Hence the clubs need to watch them and stop them doing things, if they are not going to punish them for doing things, and let them know prior that that will be the case

And yet again..

THE bar owner who claims he was tackled and laid low in the street by Brisbane Broncos captain Darren Lockyer says he pretended to joke along because he was intimidated by the Lockyer's teammates who surrounded him.

ABC TV played security footage allegedly depicting several Broncos players involved in drunken behaviour at Brisbane's Casablanca Cella Bar two weeks ago.

Owner/operator of the bar, Terry de Gunten, later told Fairfax Newspapers he was "in fear'' after Lockyer tackled him.

"I didn't want to act in an aggressive manner because I was surrounded by six or seven guys, so I just acted as if it was a joke and laughed and laid down so they'd leave me alone,'' Mr de Gunten said.

"They had reached behind the bar where there was a display bin with (pre mixed drinks.

"They threw cash behind the bar and walked out with eight bottles before the girl even had a chance to count the money.

"They walked onto the street with unopened bottles, which is against the liquor laws - we can be fined for that.

"So when I went after them, that's when he tackled me.''

Mr de Gunten, is expected to lodge a complaint with Broncos management today and says he will ask for an apology from Lockyer.

It wasn't the first time his club had had trouble with Broncos players, Mr de Gunten claimed, citing an incident where players had thrown pizzas over the windows "a few years ago''.

The club's manager Sarosh Mehta had earlier aired the claims on the ABC, confirming an incident had occurred on September 6 - the night after Broncos Coach Wayne Bennett's emotional farewell at Suncorp Stadium.

The network played footage of a patron wrapping his arms around a staff member's waist and pushing him.

"From what I hear from my manager, it was somewhat of a semi tackle, it was a bit of strong push,'' Mehta said.

However, it is impossible to identify the person involved in the incident from the footage, though Mehta told the network his staff had informed him it was the Broncos captain.

Mehta warned players would face a zero tolerance policy at the club.

"If they act up be they Broncos, or be they men in the street they will definitely be banned,'' Mehta said.

Broncos CEO Bruno Cullen could not be reached for comment.

However, it is believed the club attempted to use legal channels to prevent the ABC from playing the footage.

Lockyer, who saw the video footage when it was aired on television last night, later told The Courier-Mail he was not aware of any Bronco player who had tackled a staff member of the bar. And he flatly denied claims he was drunk.

"I have seen the footage and I don't believe it was me," Lockyer said. "I don't recall any of the Broncos I was with making a tackle.

"I'm not going to apologise for something I didn't do."

Alleged sex assault

The latest allegations come after Brisbane detectives had interviewed fellow Broncos Karmichael Hunt, Sam Thaiday and Darius Boyd in relation to an alleged sexual assault of a 24-year-old woman last weekend.

The Courier-Mail understands police have been told a Broncos player witnessed an alleged sexual assault by three teammates in the disabled toilet of the Alhambra Lounge nightclub in Fortitude Valley last Saturday.

The Broncos have already confirmed that three players have been interviewed by police over the alleged assault of a 24-year-old woman.

The controversy comes on the eve of the club's do-or-die match against Melbourne Storm.

NRL boss David Gallop said he was aware of the allegations involving Lockyer.

"Obviously we would expect the Broncos to look into it and give us a full report as soon as possible," he said.

Broncos chief Bruno Cullen said the footage did not support the bar manager's claims.

"I think there's a feeding frenzy out there by the media," Mr Cullen said on ABC radio today.

"Most media organisations have telephone numbers of every club ... and are looking for dirt on Broncos players."

Coach Wayne Bennett declined to comment last night.

If Bird gets suspended for apparently doing something wrong
