No chance of silverware till we learn how to defend

Tonight we defended f'n woefully and its not the first time this season, to give up 4 goals at home is a joke and no championship team would do it - i hope for the acl we recruit some quality defenders / defensive midfielders, going forward we're ok but the amount of cheap goals weve coughed up this season ridiculous and we cant win the championship with this sort of trend

I took a friend to a "soccer" match for the first time tonight.

Interesting that he thought it was a good and entertaining game whilst I would have prefered a 1-0 win with an own goal in the last minute.

To a football person our defence was f**ked.

To the neutral it was a great game!... ???

Also I tried to find GP and buy him an ale (bear will testify to this  )  but he couldn't be found.............. ???

Not even that is guaranteed. We have 2 tough games ahead of us...if we lose, or draw a couple, and the Nix win a couple they could edge us out.

You could say two of our goals were pretty soft imo.

Our defence has been shit all year.

The last couple of weeks we have been able to paper over the cracks but the better teams will always find us out.

My opinion of our defensive stocks:

Porter is a converted Middie and is a raw as hell. Good going forward and has reasonable pace but he is NOT a defender. Posistionally clueless.

Wilko....Right Back is his proper spot. Simply not good enough to anchor the defence. Quality Fullback...average CB.

Bojic...solid player who will get better after a full season of HAL. Great prospect.

Heffo...great going forward but looks as rusty as hell atm. Not top quality but big heart and a great asset when in form.

Boogs...best natural defender in the squad. Lack of pace is a worry. Needs to be paired with sweeper with pace or switched to full back. Quality player IMHO.

D'Appuzzo and the other bloke with chocko name....jury still out.

We need a couple of signing to fix up our shambolic defence quick smart.

its happened all year and weve been lucky a few times to salvage draws after being 3 goals down...

i dont care if we win 1-0 in drab fashion, its better than seeing another team hit the back of our net 3+ times

Bojic and Wilko have obviously got used to Jedi cleaning up in front of them. Take him away and they were shite.

hmm I beg to differ where porter is concerned. he held the right back position much more solidly than clarky was able tonight. Once porter went into the mids they owned us down the right hand side and got 2 easy goals.

Nah , i reckon 2 of our 3 where ok th second was the softest. as has happened for tooooo long we miss tooooo many easy shots that even Aloisii would probably get, 9 wekll now i'm  dreamin).

look at how many misses we had the last match against perth .

It wasnt just Heff, they majority lost there mojo tonight. Thought Andre should have come on Earlier to lift side as he usually does. What a Joke the Announcers Man to watch and he doesnt come on until 10 to go.
