ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Wondering what length his contract might be? IF he fires this season and overcomes those injuries that plagued his professional career in the UK, would we still ahve the benfit of another season with him, or would Sheffield come running with a contract and whip him out from underneath us? Is he under loan or did his contract with Sheffield expire and then he signed with the Mariners?

Sorry for all the little questions, but if he's a decent player and can play our season well, then I'd hate to have Sheffield come knocking and say thanx for getting him fit, we'll have him back now! And no transfer fee?

Time will answer both your questions ... but if a player is good enough to play in Europe it is very hard to keep them in the A-League regardless of the contract ...

He only costs $3.5 on foxsports fantasy a-league, i promise you that will prove to be an absolute bargain, he is cheaper than the bench players for Wellington and i can foresee him being one of the head turners this season!

Thanx for the answers.

Obviously if he can play a good season or two out here, he'd be inclined to give the folks at Sheffield United or elsewhere close to his home country a ring, unless he finds he loves the place and decides to stay here.

EXCLUSIVE: Socceroo David Carney is helping Nick Travis adjust to life Down Under and the Yorkshire youngster has no regrets about swapping Sheffield for the Central Coast.
Midfielder Travis is settling into his new surroundings after leaving behind his home city and the club he joined as a youngster.

Sheffield United and Central Coast have strong links but Travis admits it was a tremendous help to have Carney on hand to seek advice and offer an insight into life (and football) Down Under.

The former Bramall Lane teammates are good friends and Carney has been happy to smooth the transition from one side of the world to the other for Travis.

Travis tells au.fourfourtwo.com: "I've been at Sheffield United since I was nine and signed professional when I was 17. It's all I've ever known so this is a big contrast.

"I got recommended to the gaffer (Lawrie McKinna) by Sheffield United. I came out at end of last season during Asian Champions League period. They offered me a contract and here I am.

"They are a great bunch of lads and they've made me feel very welcome."

As for the Carney influence, Travis is delighted with his friend's input so far.  "I've been speaking to Carns a lot.

"He's a good mate. He's given me a few contacts over here and a few things to do. He's been really good in suggesting people to sort out a car, a property, things like that.

"As for the football he told me that the standard here is good and that I'd enjoy it. There's a lot of good players here."

So just what is Travis hoping to add to the Mariners side this season? He is certainly hoping to help boost the 'goals for' column if he has his way.

"I'm a box to box midfielder, I like to get forward beyond the strikers and score a few goals. The team has quite a few defensive midfielders so hopefiully I can be the one to get forward," he said.

Travis joked that a chilly recent trip to Canberra with the club was something of a reminder of life in chilly Sheffield and that he'd been glad to head north again and back into the sunshine.

"I just want to work hard and try and cement a place in the team," he said

I heard this is actually a screen shot of Kwas starring in the Ringer 2. The synopsis is that he gets into the disabled olympic football team and smashes a team of Brazilians with Down syndrome. KUTGW Kwassie!  ;D
