ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Am surprised that so many people were suckered.

I post a name and a youtube link yet people are confused because a notorious pisstaker posts another.

He plays as a right-winger in a 4-2-3-1 system. Not sure how Arnie is gonna use him.

He looks like an exciting player!

in reality that'd be something like this then?

-------------------Ryan-------------------
-Bojic-Wilkinson-Zwaanswijk-Rose-
------------------Griffiths---------------
----McGlinchey------------Perez----
--Zalio---------------------------Bozanic--
----------------McBreen--------------------

i don't think it suits. zalio had better be a player willing to do work in defence, and with that in mind i'd be wanting to flip bozanic and perez at the very least. i just don't think there is enough defensive ability in that line-up - who's going to win the ball back?

with the same personnel, i'd be most inclined to set it up like this:

-------------------Ryan-------------------
-Bojic-Wilkinson-Zwaanswijk-Rose-
-----------Bozanic-Griffiths---------------
----Zalio---Perez---McGlinchey--------
----------------McBreen--------------------

but even then, i think you'd be contriving an awkward setup when in reality the person to pair with griffiths is hutchinson.

ignoring zalio for the moment - he may well be a drovandi for all we know - at the moment i think our best shape is this:

-------------------Ryan-----------------------
-Bojic-Wilkinson-Zwaanswijk-Rose-
--------Hutchinson---Griffiths------------
----McGlinchey---Perez---Bozanic-----
----------------McBreen---------------------

We've got two strikers who are too similar. This shape addresses that by reshaping the midfield to be able to be more flexible and in particular free up rose and bojic a little more to attack where they can.

players can come from deeper and wider to support mcbreen whose great strength is his ability to get up to the line and draw defenders in. we should utilise this by having supporting runners and decoy runners upsetting the opposing defensive structures, not by having another bloke running into the same places and clogging it up.

*if* we get a second striker who is different (and therefore moves to different spaces and creates different threats) we could then shift to this:

-------------------Ryan-----------------------
-Bojic-Wilkinson-Zwaanswijk-Rose-
-----------------Griffiths----------------------
---McGlinchey---Perez---Bozanic------
-----------------Striker 2---------------------
----------------McBreen---------------------

My reading of the Tea Leafs is GA is after a striker .. we have a number of talented mids on the bench already in Amini, Porter & Matty (I have always said Matty is a better mid than a striker), Hutch ... for mine, GA would be looking at this bloke as striker ... this may be a good call the limited youtube we have has him as a wide mid ... but that could have been the team he was with...

I agree with everything you say except for my original 4-3-3 not being defensive enough. If Griffiths is orderd to hold the midfield and not go forward then we should be ok IMO.

On everything you've said that doesn't involve Zalia I agree 100%

If you read zalio's profile done by him or his agent it says in Spanish, that he's wide right player. Would do well and could be used as the quick smaller striker arnie wants.

I wouldn't mind trying Hutch as the second striker. He's has good form there before and isn't afraid to take a shot.

I think Hutho good form there was back in season 1!

He is not confident enough going foward now and hardly ever shoots. Personally I wouldn't play Hutcho up front i think he is a defensive middie and looked totally lost when we played him on the flank the other week.

I hope we are not bringing in a wide middie but rather a specialist "fox in the box".

I hear Rooney's not happy at Man U. He might like a change of scenery :)

Yep, sack all the players from every team and we'll just trot Rooney around to each ground week after week. Also.might have to get the socceroos to pitch in a bit to fund it.

we do need a marque.. lets just ask singo, after all he was willing to write a blank cheque to resign aloi$i! mmm, i wonder if said cheque is still in mackinna's top draw somewhere?

rooney is apparently worth 100m pounds which is around $160m aussie.. which is around 6x the total salary for the entire a-league

Michael Mifsud (legendary Maltese international and former Coventry striker) is currently un-contracted and could join us on a free-transfer. He could join up with his Maltese team-mate Hutch.

If this ever happened I would explode with happiness and buy 100 shirts with "Mifsud" on the back.

Until we sign a new striker what about Amini up front with Matty. I am sorry but we need to do something Mcbreen is bloody lazy and Matty has a first touch like a elephant.
