Torres is better than Beni by miles. We also have 5 or 6 players than can be better than Beni if they step up.

We actually have the potential to be better than last season. If we had kept Tulio we would have been premiers...and we might still be without the boss man.


1. The back 4 is rock solid.
2. Niz and Maxy have both gone up to league best level.
3. Alou, Brandtman, Big Ed, Jing and Di Piz are a nightmare for any defence.

Angel is 100% gone at end of season. I have zero background knowledge but we've both done our jobs here.

I think Angel may have been injured before. In a previous game he could run reasonably fast in a straight line but seemed to not be keen to jink either way or really put his foot through the ball. He seemed to be better during the week.

Monty got blasted last night from Hibs fans, they have officially declared #Montyout

* If Monty had the Mariners this year would he be anywhere near Jacko’s success?

* Was Monty success in 22/23 more from recruiting and simply the Nizzy/Ballard/Kaltak effect?

* Are both Monty and Jacko successful because we have Niz, Ballard etc who are a great group?
They both are great man managers but Monty seems he won’t get a chance to recruit his own team for next season at Hibs.

Once again will be an interesting off season at the Mariners!

I think it might come down to silverware.

1 and it's possibly. 2 and it's probably. All 3 and it's pack the bags time.

Scotland is always a tough gig. Unless you go to the big 2 you're only going for money or a the hope it's a stepping stone.

A big part of our success has to be the recruitment of our visas, they rarely hit the ground running but if you give them time they seem to end up one of our best on the field

I think he will be but lower Asia with money lots of it would be more of a worry than Scotland.

No one would be brave enough to pick a manager from Australia’s best club then replace him with the same clubs new coach. Fans would go mental.

The only thing would be is his family happy here and is he worried next years team won’t be as strong and he can’t cash in on the success after s bad year.

Also we have Asian champions league possibilities next season to keep him interested. If he did well there he would open up a few more job opportunities.

Most importantly he is tied to the club so no A League club can get him

The gaping obvious hole in this list is Cummings, the clubs most proflic record striker. Monty got him here. Without him last season would have been very different.
