ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

National Youth League Fixtures and Mariners youth team discussion

NPL might become a version of NYL then because the 2nd Division teams would also want to add depth and be incentive for them to play youth as well.

With the academy players who don’t make it to the A League it gives more opportunities.

Personally don’t see 2nd division getting up. The league is struggling to run the A League properly
The NSD will be completely independent of the aleague, as it will be wholly run and administered by Football Australia. No APL involvement.
Im hopeful it gets up but I’ll believe it when I see it. It’s been scheduled to kick off “next year” for about 7 years now.

Oh ok so APL run A League and FA run NSD.

Then it’s more likely to get up as a F U to APL then

Ridiculous and confusing

That’s the $500000 question. I’ve been told different things by different clubs; the latest I had was that they will be expected to field teams in both the NSD and the NPL, which seems mental to me with both comps running at the same time.
Potential for it to be an even more significant expense for the NPL sides then. Not only do they need to step up and support a second div side they still need to run an NPL side like they are now.

The Wanderers fullbacks really let the ball pinball around in defence a lot instead of booting it and / or taking some yellow cards in midfield to break down attacks.

However we also missed some straight forward chances as well.

So we possibly do well against other younger teams?

Next week will start to really paint a picture.

Our defense was its usual leaking bucket. First goal i thought warshawsky should have done better. We dominated first 10mins but didn’t look like scoring. They get one break and score.

The headers were great crosses but poor positioning and reading of the flight from our defence.

Attack was disjointed yet we somehow scored 5 and should if had more. I thought Ninkiroyo went the wrong way around the keeper on the first penalty and got bailed out.

Strange game but one we desperately needed and hopefully builds some confidence.

Yeah pretty clear there is talent there for their age but against men they are way out of their depth.

Will be interesting to see how they go against Sydney because they carved us up early in the season.

There is talent there but when you consider the best players in the world make top teams at 18-20. There doesn’t appear to be any one who is super special but lots of good players who hopefully keep growing and are late bloomers

Yep - they do. But they don't all do it at the same time. A bit of experience around them would certainly help.
