ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

National Youth League Fixtures and Mariners youth team discussion

Watched the match last night, Hedley, Smyth and Niyonkuru ran riot and were a danger all night.

Hedley a bit fortunate with his first two but a fantastic finish for his third. Attacking play was great. But defensively cut apart way too easily.

Normally only took one ball and it took out both the front three and mids, was disappointing to be winning 3-1 and concede two soft pens. Same problems we have had all season. But had a genuine shout for a pen of our own at the end.

Smyth held the ball up very well this week and played some beautiful passes. Was good to see Duarte and Sasha get minutes, even if Sasha got sent off.

Peraic-Cullen made a couple of great saves and his distribution has really improved as the season went on, made some great passes.

Paragelli and Menham had great games and we were generally very good on the ball, especially Sciluna just really need to tighten up at the back and not get cut through by one ball. Someone like Kasalovic would really shore up the midfield defensively...
Seems like we basically have a heap of talented attackers that are starting to look the goods, defence needs a lot of work though. Correct?
How’s Scicluna been going?

Haven’t been able to watch much so far this season.

Sciluna has been very good on the ball but lacks a bit defensively, reminds me of Balard when first breaking into the senior team.

Bottom goes down automatically, 2nd bottom plays in a pro/rel playoff (2 legs) against second place in League One.
Some NPL commentators are quite quick to death-ride us (perhaps somewhat justifiably so this season) - I recall a fairly animated discussion I had with a couple of commentators at the season launch last season, who were absolutely adamant we would go down, without a ball having been kicked in 2023!

It goes without saying that Sydney at home this weekend and Sutherland away in a few weeks are massive must-wins if we hope to survive.

If we could get sasha on park .it would give us
A bit more poise . Menham is playing well on the left . Deng is getting better .
I believe

That’s the $500000 question. I’ve been told different things by different clubs; the latest I had was that they will be expected to field teams in both the NSD and the NPL, which seems mental to me with both comps running at the same time.
NPL might become a version of NYL then because the 2nd Division teams would also want to add depth and be incentive for them to play youth as well.

With the academy players who don’t make it to the A League it gives more opportunities.

Personally don’t see 2nd division getting up. The league is struggling to run the A League properly
