Teng putting a penalty away for the 20s. Very different player from his brothers. Different role at DM as well. Haven't quite seen the dominance from him yet that I saw from Garang and Alou at this level but he is growing.

Bayliss (the younger) was simply outstanding - what a bloody good footballer he is. Kuzevski at RB also stands out . Windust had nothing to do really but is a classy player.
Kinda boring and pedestrian win, we battered them - they really offered nothing.
Not sure about Jok or McCarthy - decent NPL1 or 2nd div?
Great to see most of the younger ex academy graduates there, together with Monty and the Canberra bid team.

Real buzz around the place I thought.

He who shall not yet be named was also there

Lachy Bayliss is class. Looks a real footballer. I have similar sentiments re Jok but interestingly he has only been playing football for 5yrs. McCarthy is coming back from an ankle injury suffered in A-league. Only second match back with game time I think.
Good performance given the result last week

Brilliant 4-1 win over the previously undefeated Northern Tigers. Jok with a brace.
20s got up over a previously 100% Northern Tigers as well 3-1 (although probably harder fought than the score suggests) which means we take over top spot on GD (we are 2nd in 1st grade).

The Mariners social media referred to the A-League victory over WU as a "Statement victory" and I think the same can be said of both the NPL results, both grades knocking off the unbeaten league leaders. Great time to be a Mariners fan. Ironically the aggregate score across the 3 "statement wins" was 8-2.

After their mandatory 3 week break after the AL finishes we could see
Hall, Farrell, Steele,Ballard, Kuol and Bayliss brought back in for the run in.
Probably not allowed but they would blow the comp away

There is limits on squad size so I doubt we would see Hall, Balard or Faz, and if there is any justice they should be away with the NT at the Asian Cup U23 until the back end of June anyway.

But Steele, Kuol, James Bayliss and Hatchy have already played NPL this season so they are definitely available.

If there is any slots available then I think Noah is still eligible once he is recovered

Bayliss will be having a break after shoulder surgery a week ago

Academy had a good 2-0 win on the weekend, Lachlan Bayliss with a brace. First goal had some nice buildup from Khoury, McCarthy and Segreto. The assist from Teng Kuol for the second was class.
