ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I wonder what you would do if someone actually took you up on that??

At the moment, you guys only have Pay TV manufactured rivalries. There is no local enemy.

Wait until you work and live with your rivals and it becomes real.

I work with the bling and its tense but worse then that i work with boofhead league supporters and they just try to provoke me cause i like FOOTBALL and so they with knowlage of anything always hyping up newcastle and have no concept of the fact we premiers to them it's all bout the gf and you cant argue there just so ignorrant but fk me i try.
I honestly think newcastle mariners is the most "real" hatred rivalry so far in the Aleague
Mariners bling is different its like a love to hate respect rivalry in a way not sure if thats the right words

Cleary melbourne hates sydney but imo you were taught to hate sydney by media i dont think it brewed from events on the field

And adl hates you but i think its just jelousy

If someone from The Marinators actually took us up on that offer when we sing it, I'm sure there would be a majority of people to shake hands and exchange hello's with before the filthy little muzteks that have infiltrated the South End would start throwing shit and acting in a very "manly" way.

It's not fair to say that the rivalry between Melbourne & Sydney has been manufactured by TV. The rivalry has been going on before TV existed.

As for Adelaidians... well... everyone needs someone to laugh at every now and then.

I spose what I meant was that (as Eggy said) we live and work in amongst scum and Bling supporters so our rivalry isnt played out on the net or in the papers, its real and its personal.

This isnt some interstate (we are better than you) rivalry, this is real hatred. Everytime I approach the scumdome (even driving past on a weekday will do it) I can feel how much I loathe their very being.

I also know that they feel exactly the same way - a fact they point out fairly often too.

The scenes outside CCLC after we beat them 3-0 in the semi sum it up perfectly. Were we in the streets for ages singing and dancing because we made the GF?? not totally, we had humiliated the scum and that was better.

When the get a 2nd Melb team, you will know what we mean :)

I ve hated newcastle as an area and as rugby league team for as long as i can remeber i had to live there for a year once hated it i refuse to even go out "partying" there.
If for somereason i need something from there i'll try and go to sydney which is harder further and more expensive.

I agree tard/sydneys more then a tv rivalry but it only happens 2 or 3 times a year
we gotta live with it in our faces everyday.
I walked into a shop once in my jersy and at that exsact moment i scummer and a blinger each walked in in kits we looked at each otheh and the bling and myself sang at the scum.

So where are we all getting tix?? is there a particular bay/section for away support??

http://www.ticketmaster.com.au/event/250040F593191504?artistid=1055545&majorcatid=10004&minorcatid=11

There's an away bay. Expect young Melburnian f**kwits to stand behind the bay screaming abuse and hurling the occasional plastic bottle before security & police move them on.

Get EZtickets or pick them up from a local Ticketmaster outlet, because the booking & handling fees are as close to extortion as they possibly could be.

Steer clear of The Colonial or Best Western on King Street. Pre-game I would suggest Young & Jackson on Flinders/Swanston st (far away from the game, but we don't like it and are unlikely to be there), or the Exchange Hotel on the corner of Little Collins/King st (Closer, a bit more football friendly & unlikely to have Melbourne supporters). As with any away trip, call ahead.

Post-game, every man, woman and dog is welcome at the Charles Dickens Tavern (Just past the corner of Elizabeth st on Collins) where there will be much drunken lullabies regardless of win/lose/draw.

We're leaning towards Oaks on Collins at the moment - quality place, barely 5 minutes walk to Southern Cross Station, close to the Casino and some of the better pubs.

LOVE that place.  The owner/manager is an absolute champion.

Indeed he is. He's practically my adopted father.

"I said _CELTIIIIIIIIIIIC!!!!_"    ;)
