...... I'm sick of Wilko, just get rid of him. Make Macca Or Matty cap. Pedj is a wing back, not a centreback. Heffernan would be doing better in midfield honestly and Porter
has been our best back in the best couple of weeks, playing midfield tonight.

I think you did quite well in the 2nd part of the 1st half and the beginning of the 2nd half. the defence looked a bit more stable compared to last week. The match would have been different if Matty Simon had scored at the beginning of the 2nd half.
Imo the turning point was when Melbourne made their first sub and brought Hernandez on.

But still, you should be that clever and finish the match with 11 players as the one next week is probably the most important of that season and you need every player then.y

For 67 minutes, that was a great away performance with only 9 men (yes you Heff and you Mrdja), the game should have been over by the time they scored.

When you are on top you MUST convert your chances - we didnt and we got done.

Saso seems to be getting the petty Gumps treatment from last year - grow up CCM.

What was most alarming was they way we simply collapsed when they scored, the heads went down and we were back to the rabble from last week.

Yes, we need to buy 1 or 2 defenders but we also need a deeper squad to counter Gumps,Clarkie etc getting tired.

Looks like Heffs season is now over and that will only help us as he has been shit since he came back (sorry, I think he is great too but face it, he is playing shit).

Positives - new shape worked v well for 67 mins, away support were loud and a credit to us, Danny is back to his brilliant best and Hutcho was for me MOM. DM suits him

Next week, we will need to beat Adelaide to have any hope and then get pwnd in the semi's

Musc**t is a c**t pure and simple and was running the refs game for him all game BUT Muscat and Melb are both smarter and better than us.

They are better on the ball and much better in the box.  Our squad is a team of battlers but lacks the quality to beat the big boys and we will get smashed in ACL.

This was a clash between the Leagues top 2 srikeforces...and we got smashed by Allsop n Thompson!

Its sad that our best player is a 35yo who is treated like shit by the management but still shows he is superior to most of the "favourites" in the squad when given an opportunity.

Time for a clean out.

priorities for our squad:

1: get rid of the dead wood - eg: elrich (too injury prone), mrdja (also too injury prone and doesnt give a rats),
2: a quality replacement for Jedi
3: someone who can create for matty and sasho - use dylan off the bench where he is far more effective
4: lawrie needs to be more proactive than reactive, it bit us on the ass two weeks in a row

Danny.  5.5/10.  One world class save and then lets a free kick through his legs!  He needs to spend the off season in Sheffield Utd learning the basics.

Clarkey  6/10...not bad and should have had a double!
Bojic  4/10 Pathetic for the second week on the trot.
Wilko 6/10. better effort and did some good things but still out of position far too often
Heff 6/10. better effort and nearly set up a goal but the sending off was plain stupid....everyone knows you drop em in back play.

Gumps 7/10 ..easily our MOM.
Hutcho. 5.5/10  average.  simply not good enough to anchor our midfield imho.  good squad player but being asked to be what he can't be...i.e.  Jedi.
Porter...was he there?? Only saw him when he was feeding the ball to the Melb keeper.

Macca...5.5/10..average.
Simon....5/10...his worst game of the year and a shocking miss.
Mrdja..4.5/10...waste of time and should have been off for Sasho after 50mins.

subs: O'Grady...looked good actually.
Caceras...one brilliant run...sad fact is he (apart from Gumps) is the only player in the squad that can beat players (oh and Heff but thats not his job).
