and George, just to cheer you up even more, Kwassie looked like he fitted right in tonight. Wasnt a bad effort from someone who hasnt played much

The effort, without a doubt, was there tonight and much better than last game's offering (not that it was hard).

The defending, however, was comically bad and was on a par with the worst defending from certain A-League teams in the past year.

No, bollocks to them.

Clear out the rubbish, Mrdja, Bojic, Wilkinson, Clarkie (sorry mate, time to go).

We will be the laughing stock of the HAL next year with our defending unless the club does something very very fast

IF we got rid of said players, would we actually be able to replace them with better quality? Anyone in the Yoof side who could make the step up now? or at least in the next 12 months or so?

It's the off season.  Aren't we supposed to be recruiting?

I've got this really bad feeling that Huke, Kwasnik and Rizzo may have been it

Please somebody tell me that Rizzo's contract is ACL only. If he is one of our "signings" for 09/10 then ..... :vomit:

I should just keep thinking postively. We have ample salary cap room for some decent foreigners and the cream of this year's NSWPL crop.

I'm also hoping for some out of the blue super signing or maybe even one or two of the standouts from the nswpl. Just think that huke, kwas and rizzo(if he stays for next season) are good but not super signings

Hi everyone....
Heard from my son at the game, he said the atmosphere was fantastic, except for the dang rain, that didn't stop... he said there was about 20 supporters all up...
I was amazed at that, because you could clearly hear them quite loud at times,
with the yellow army chant, and the Perth glory tune.. and the Bull Sh** chants at the ref...
I got to see him a number of times... he and his mates were wearing the kimono's...
and they ran up to the fence when we scored!.. I was thinking just how over the moon they must have been feeling at that time..
Cause I know us back home sure were wrapped!...We started looking great from that point on, but those set pieces are a killer for us..

As for the game... I thought  the ref was making some major mistakes, but did it to both sides..
I was sick to death of Hutcho winging all the time...
It makes me feel ill when I watch the replay of the way Danny spilled that ball, and the fact we got done from a yet another stupid set piece...

I don't mind clark because he does send through some nice balls sometimes... in fact that is what matty scored from...

I would have liked to have seen Caceras on instead of mcCalister...

If I hear more from my son and mates, about after the game or events I will let you know...

When I spoke to my son he really had no voice left... lol.. he did his best to chant the mariners on...
I also thought that was great that Simons went to the few Mariners supporters when he scored... it sure made them supporters enjoy the moment!

NOT GOOD ENOUGH AND WE SHOULD HAVE KEPT BOSNICH THERE UNTILL THE END OF THESE GAMES AT LEAST HE WOULD HAVE ORGANISED THEM BETTER THEN THE CURRENT COACHES AND ALSO SAVED US ?

2 shitty goals again.

Bozza would go off his nut if he conceded any of the goals we have this campaign. Danny needs to harden up and kick the guts of those at fault.

Why did osman start? I can not think of one minute in the ACL where i have not thought he was having a shit game. He isnt going to even be here next season so why stick it out? Why not throw porter on in the mids where he belongs and should have played all season?

Clarke was great at the back i thought.

We played well, but concede awful goals. Why has lawrie been unable to sort this out? He has had like 2 months now. Clarke, bojic, wilko, boogs is a defensive line which will win headers. Leaving guys like porter or hutch or gumps or huke to try and mark much taller players is absurd.

If we seriously lack that much height in the midfield then we need to bring in some tall mids. We cant afford to have 4 mids playing who are all too short to mark a strikers. 3 maybe, 2 fine, but 4 is too many.

I think we have missed jedis height in the midfield far more than his tackling, which huke for instance can replicate, or his passing, which gumps is better at.

Without him we can not defend in the air. BEcause if the opposition has 5 guys who are 6 foot, like most teams easily do, then without macca and simon defending a big attacker always has a free header.

and if our strikers have to drop back to defend, when we clear the ball, it just comes pinging back to us.

this is really simple stuff, coaching 101 and for the life of me you would think we could sort it out

And how exactly we we going to pay for him?
We are not excactly flush with cash!! and there's a thing called a salary cap! and if he was really that good why has he not been snapped up by another club?

*sigh*

Nothing short of a thorough cleanout both on and off the field will do.  We have not won a game in 4 and a half months, and as others have said earlier in the thread - what organisation in the world, football or not, would tolerate such rubbish??

We are nothing more than a mediocre team heading nowhere but down unless the rot is stopped, and I for one am finding it harder to care week-to-week.  90% of the players and many elements of the club itself aren't doing the right thing by the supporters, so why should we invest our time in their bullshit??

CCMFC - get your act together.

Maybe this is part of some grand marketing plan?

They're going to keep doing really shit until everybody's disillusioned, then suddenly announce a massive cleanout and all these brilliant new players, with Beckham in as Marquee, all because they've got a new sponsor.

The sponsor?  Some sort of anti-toenail-fungus cream.

Their new slogan?
"We helped the Mariners stop the rot, we can help you do it too!"

See, it's all part of a ploy to lure in a fungus cream sponsor.  Once that plan comes to fruition, and we get our sponsor and the new team they've paid for, we'll win 10 tiolet seats in a row.  You'll see.

Just have a little faith,  Hangnail out a little longer, you'll see.

Everton had Walter Smith for 4 years, which were dark, horrible, depressing and hopeless. 4 years of that was torture enough.

That's where I've come to find agreement with you, that no club in a league like this should simply accept mediocrity and say "not bad given the circumstances/resources" blah blah. It's a tiresome cliche, which may hold true overseas where the playing field is invariably less even, but not in a level playing field league like our own.

The club has so much potential to be at the forefront of Australian football, having done well so far already. It can ill-afford to slip away when the stakes are high and getting higher.

Name any other enterprise in this universe where a string of poor results doesnt require a massive shake up/ restructure to fix?

(Trick question, there arent any)

MICROSOFT

if they played the left side a bit more they might have had more chance. They are soooooo  predictable. They have played 70% of their attack down the right side for the last two years !  How many times do you see Heff put a ball through and run forward and it never goes back to him - always to the right.  I'm over it.
