ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

What can you say as you have both indicated NSO is not in the FFA's plans...... I also feel as mentioned before there is limited growth in the North Sydney area given we have been around for 9 years now... my gut feeling is most of our support base from the NS region is Northern Spirit fans like myself that followed the NS to the Coast ...

If we don't win we can kiss any chance of finishing in the top two good bye.

I'd argue that chance has been and gone.

With no ACL campaign to worry about the Roar are going to be hard to budge from the top of the ladder, and I think that either SFC or Newcastle will finish up in second.

I would much rather us focus on the ACL and staying in the 6 - in that order - than try to make a run for the top.

I'll agree with that. When I said "top two" I really meant just second on the table. Nobody can catch Brisbane, maybe Wanderers and maybe Victory. I don't agree re: Sydney and Newcastle, I think both are teams that are likely to be exposed by well organised teams, like the Wanderers or Victory.

I'd love to see us break the group stage in the ACL, and if we make the 6 then, well, anything can happen. We will see.

I disagree. ACL is tough, but if we can get our act together by that time of the year and (fingers crossed) not lose any players then I think we might make it out of the group.

I strongly disagree. As I mentioned in the ACL thread it's entirely possible for us to make it through to the Round of 16 if we perform well against FC Seoul and (most likely) Beijing Guoan.

Sanfrecce Hiroshima are a shoo-in, but the second spot is very much up for grabs if we can get our side in order by then.

Forget Roar - they have cleared out and we don't have the quality to catch them. TBH I don't think the quality in the HAL this year is their at all. Even Brisbane have been playing crap and winning. We.vebeen playing crap and are in the 6 with a game in hand. A win tomorrow and against WSW and we are right in it for the top 2.

The fact that I don't think there is the quality in the HAL this year means I don't hold much stock in our hopes for the ACL I'll take 2nd on goal difference in the HAL and 2 wins to be back to back champions.

Back to back champions would be nice to shut up some Roar fans I know who like to rub in this mythical 2011 final I keep hearing about.

I actually don't think Poppa and Muscat are up to the challenge of managing a successful ACL campaign and maintaining ladder position - it was a miracle that we managed to do it last year. I think they will finish up around 4th/5th.

Well, I think WSW will falter harder in the ACL than A-League. Melbourne I think you are right, they might free fall in the league, but they've got some serious quality in their squad that I think can pull them through. If they had Ange still they'd be a lot tougher to face.

firstly i agree that it's unlikely ccm could move to north syd. the untapped market there, i.e. those that aren't already sydney supporters or mariners supporters, can't be huge. plus ffa wouldn't allow a team to leave an established support base to simply take supporters from another team. the aleague gains nothing from just moving fans around a bit. MC needs to understand a football club is not simply a business and can't be run precisely the same way.

Reddy is the better keeper and has kept his end of the deal in terms of behaviour and team sportsmanship. he has to be our first choice keeper. end of discussion.

i doubt a top two finish. not because the quality isn't there (we have some great players) but because the consistency isn't. this is a rebuilding year - it takes time for a fairly new squad to gel, to confidently play a system together and to do so under a new coach. hence the inconsistency. I'll be happy with constant improvement from the team this year, my expectation is for making the finals. achieving back to back championships is the golden goal and whilst against the odds i believe it can be done with constant improvement over the season.
next year I'll worry about competing for the premiership. this year is for rebuilding and having a go at the gf.

Sheep people always worry me and especially a team trying to get off the bottom playing with little luck ... luck can always turn...

Hope we win and go up the table ....
