Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

· Having kept 11 clean sheets so far this season, Central Coast Mariners goalkeeper MATTHEW RYAN is aiming to create a new Hyundai A-League record for most clean sheets in a season (12). . this is an awesome achievement ... and remember that jvs kept the first three games so it has happened in a relatively short period (better than bolton last season i guess)

. obviously couldn't have done it without the team in front of him but well done to the young fella ... bring on that record

That sort of achievement from a young keeper puts me in mind of another kid who tore it up as a teenager some years ago (albeit at the other end of the pitch) - Mark Viduka.

Was very impressed with Strebre's performance on Wednesday, very glad to have him on Sunday. Feel sure he won't be too frightened to give Perez a penalty when Reddy rips his leg off :)
I've watched Carle's last couple of games too, he's starting to look very dangerous. Glad Brosque's not there to feed off him.

Sydney are definitely a different team to the one we played last time.

Carle has stepped up and gave the Victory hell when they gave him space, and Mekela is the Shane Smeltz of Sydney, while Shannon Cole livened the game up when he came on in the Big Blue.

They still have a lot of deadwood and I think we still have the edge on them, but it will be a tough game

we must not take them for granted.. carle, Jamieson and Cole could pop up and any point and make us pay for any mistakes.

i'd like if baird got a start with Simon....

Quote from Roy Law on other thread...
If we had played at home on Wednesday I doubt any would have been rested but as Arnie also said to sit on a plane to Perth is not ideal preparation and would make a player with a niggling injury vulnerable to making that injury worse and thus miss important upcoming games. Plus the flight back would not help either. So Arnie 'rested' 4 players who were 'injured'.

Does anyone have any idea how we got all these Sunday afternoon games in the hot part of summer ... in the waterland paradise that we live in ... you fry on the Eastern side and have rocks in your head if you watch from there .... the beach, the lakes etc .... how do you compete.. it was the Nix last year ...

I am convinced our best times are Friday but especially Saturday night but need a 7:30 kick off at this time of year...

No-one wants them .. except Fox ... I think this season must be our turn.

Either it's our turn or we are just a convenient whipping boy who the FFA thinks will put up with the greatest amount of shit while making the least amount of noise, therefore causing the least amount of embarrassment for the FFA.

OR... I'm just a paranoid cynic :headbounce:

A young bloke I work with will be bringing a few of his mates up tomorrow. Trouble is, they're all Smurfs, so they probably won't come again after we set a new record for goals scored :)
