If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

When Rose is out we are losing out in 2 ways.
1) Rose being out.
2) Pedj playing on the left.
Much, much better when he is on the right.

TBF, I don't think there is anything in it. It's a goal line scramble and McBreens head does go down. What was the defender to do, let him have a free head at it? If the situation was reversed and they were given a P we'd be filthy about it and screaming conspiracy.

Still, I would have been loudest out there cheering if we'd got one and scored. ;)

I've been bagging McBreen for a long time as a lazy, useless sod, but his last two games have not been lazy or useless. I still don't think he's the striker we need to have, but I have been impressed by his workrate and the way he's thrown himself about. Good on you Macca, please keep that up for the rest of the season.

Same goes for Hutch. I think he did some pretty tidy work when he came on on Sunday.

If it had happened just outside the box would the ref have played on? I don`t think so

IMHO Wee Mac went missing first half and started the 2nd half strong, hutch gave the side a massive boost when he came on in the second half.. Hutch had plenty of time on the ball and looked such a different player than he has shown this season .. i think he is back to his full fitness and it shows

Bring on the Reds

Definitely a foul, very high boot, above McBreens head.
Would it have incurred a penalty or an indirect free kick. Any refs out there?

High foot (no contact)= dangerous play = indirect freekick
A kick (basically here a high foot that makes contact)= direct freekick
direct FK in the box= penalty
I got quotes from FIFA lawbook if you want?
I'm convinced ref didn't see it, and tbh I didn't see it (although I was 60 m away :p )
It was a goalmouth scramble, very difficult for ref to see!

Understand its dangerous play but read the post I'm replying to. Recky was asking if the MRP would be looking at it. Penalty or no there is no way the MRP should be looking at goalmouth scrambles to punish a missed high foot. Also, was it the foot or the woodwork which busted up McBreen's cheek? I'm not sure may need another look.

Reddy's punch on Matty, well thats a different story.....................

24 January 2011

The independent Match Review Panel (MRP) - consisting of Barry Such (Chair), Simon Micallef and Alan Davidson - convened to consider the following incidents from the Week 24 of the Hyundai A-League 2010/11

The incident involving Liam Reddy (Sydney FC) in or around the 36th minute of Sydney FC’s match against Central Coast Mariners on Sunday night. As the incident escaped the attention of referee, the MRP has the authority to consider the incident. The MRP found that Liam Reddy had committed an offence, namely Assault on a Player (eg Violent Conduct when not challenging for the ball) and has proposed a sanction of two (2) matches. The minimum sanction for this offence is two (2) matches under the Hyundai A-League Disciplinary Regulations.

Sydney FC have until 1.00pm (AEDT) tomorrow, 25 January 2011, to accept the proposed sanction or refer the matter to a hearing by the FFA Disciplinary Committee.

Liam Stomper reddy is back to his best, throwing a deliberate sly punch into the back of Simon.

Premeditated and sly, ala Muscat style. Cut from the same filthy cloth those two.

Better get at least 3 weeks.

ahhh so its that the apple dont fall far from the tree...he his fathers son
