If you pause it just at the right moment, you'll see he's about a body width off.

On the replay at Bluetongue, I honestly couldn't be sure.
It wasn't until fulltime (before extra time), that they showed slow motion replay that I changed my mind

For this reason I am disappointed that I didn't get a chance to boo after the goal (I refuse to boo, unless I am sure of the cause).

But I reckon as an ex-ref (albeit far less experienced), I could have easily given that as onside...so hard in real time, especially considering that he was running onto the ball and his timing was just off.


Obviously their disallowed goal was much easier to call, as they were all stationary!

I think it was a line ball call but what was very disapointing about the goal was a striker of Smeltz class being completley unmarked 6 yards out. Even if it was offside the ease in which Smeltz got to score was disapointing.

When you play an offside trap all defenders are up. Of course Smeltz would be unmarked.

1. Great atmosphere even though the numbers were low it was the most I've seen the crowd get into it
2. Sucks for patty and glinch ... But we wouldnt even be in the finals if it wasn't for the major roles those two play
3. Offside goal ...can't deny it with evidence ...

I thought it was a good call - Kwassie was clearly pulled off balance as he was kicking it - but had the AR been paying attention, the offside would've been awarded as that was first. We both got the same error - Perth capitalised, we didn't. Hard to blame the AR, really.

But that's what I like about Delovski - he's got the balls to make the tough call. I reckon a lot of refs wouldn't have for that one.

In truth the offside decision should not have eventuated as it was Josh Rose who committed himself too early and created a gap on the left; then Pedj hesitated fractionally hoping for the offside - he may have got to Smeltz if he hadn't hesitated. The bottom line though is we had the chances. And it has been a better season than last year and you can't ask more of a team than they improve on the previous year.
