ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

if there was ever a time for a 3-4-3 this would be it

bozza
porter - wilkinson - clark
elrich - hutch - gumps - carceras
mrdja - macallister - sash

would never happen in a million years but how attacking is that lineup!!!!!

probably, but not necessarily

there is enough pace at the back to play a flat back three so the third defender is redundant

there is also enough pace to counter sydney's long ball

sydney also play a 4-4-2 and have their defenders link up with their outside midfielders like we do

having three up front will keep their defenders grounded in their half leaving their outside midfielders isolated (GVE's tactics againsgt us in the GF)

the real key to this formation is hutch keeping corica in check and gumpy working his guts out, as well as sash playing a free role making him hard to pick

pointless agrument as lawrie doesnt like to stray away from 4-4-2

no less pointless than half the posts from your peeps

this is a football and marinators forum and if we cannot discuss football theory and permitations here where else can we discuss it?

A line up where Car Chair Arse and Elrich can push up to go from 442 to 424 when required is more likely based on what we have seen for the last 3 seasons IMHO.

What I would like to see us do is dump our tactical plan for when we need to chase a game. Throw on a tall forward and lump the ball long.

Awful football and rarely works. Most HAL sides have a tall commanding CB who eats that stuff up all day long.

Heard Lawrie speak this morning (1/2 hour - brilliant!)

Bozza WILL play but still to be determined whether start or sub.

. if he is gooing to play he has to start - no point subbing him on, then ahving to sub him off again (if need be)

. perhaps that is why we have 3 keepers named in the squad - 2 of our subs will be keepers?

. or maybe danny will play as striker (should be a good test for his emotions)

If the Boz isn't capable of seeing out 45 minutes, the whole thing has been a waste of time.

But, I agree, I reckon just start him and make a call at half time.
