ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Teams have turned around impossible deficits in the past:
- Deportivo La Corua v AC Milan in 2004
- Brondby v Karlsruhe in 1996
- Bayer Leverkeusen v Espanyol in 1988
- Bayer Uerdingen v Dynamo Dresden in 1986

But is there the will and firepower for the Mariners to do the same?

- Liverpool v AC Milan in 2005 (champions league final)

CCM 2008

i can't believe people are forgetting last year!

...all the same, i can't bring myself to seriously believe we're capable of doing it again.

Yes, the cricket is on, but it is only an ODI, which doesn't really matter. If it was a Test, different story.

to us that live and breathe cricket, yes. to the great unwashed, maybe not. for a test i'd expect to see 17k, for a ODI i'd expect 35k+.

More people would go to a public hanging than the opera but that doesnt mean we should stop subsidising Opera.

ODI's are an abomination compared to the purity of Test match cricket. 20/20 is just a farken disgrace to the great game

it took me until i saw the strategy and art of test cricket and i saw past the colours and lights of ODI cricket to see the true value of the test. so in other words, i was about 12 when that happened!

Lets hope the mongrel comes out. If so, I reckon we can beat em 2-0.

Just gotta score when we have chances instead of it all coming to nothing like it did last week. Perhaps the 2-0 deficit could be enough to motivate our strikers to fire up as well and that might solve that problem.

Dibo has an elite, at times extraordinary intellect (despite following the Scouse Gits), but he is NOT an elitist.

I was about, oh, 7 when I realised that Test cricket was brilliant. Jeffrey Robert Thomson & Dennis Keith Lillee bowling on a doctored, uneven, vicious greentop at the Gabba, the Poms had NO chance (Thommo was simply unplayable).

T20 is like a pash & dash, an ODI is like a one-night stand (have a lot of fun and forget all about it) and Tests are like being in a Polygamy with:

*Beyonce (chef & musician, permanently dressed in a French Maid's outfit),
*Halle (the trophy bride, who dresses up as a leather-bound dominatrix three times a week) and
*the mind-blowing quinella of Megan & Angelina, who turn out to be rampant, nyphomaniac, switch-hitting sexpots with a wicked foot-fetish, get off on teasing Halle with handcuffs, whips & chains AND who smother a naked Beyonce with high-grade honey and use apples, strawberries & pineapple to work the honey off the frothing Ms Knowles.

We weren't complaining last year when we signed Aloi$i under the same rule that also allowed us to pay him big $ outside of the salary cap.

but at least we'd played him in a number of A-league rounds BEFORE the finals.......and there was no Youth League last year....isn't that one of the purposes of the NYL this year ?

Yes but we didn't sign a player that has played no part in the season proper for a semi final.
