I'm not saying its not right but SBS's credibility when it comes to the Mariners is about 30% reliable. I would wait for confirmation from other sources before I believe them.
30% more than our own clubs credibility.
Disgraceful how silent those in charge of the club are right now

BUT it is totally consistent with the pattern at the moment so I'm erring on the side of believing ti

Pain is gone for next season. Can’t say I blame him

Can’t be mad at him for that, given us everything through a bunch of bad years and I don’t see that changing for the rest of the season even on the way out. Perfect example of the culture we should have been building instead of bringing back players not up to it.

I’m not Pains biggest fan but he tries hard and cares can’t ask for much more.

Allows Oar to go to the Left wing next year. Actually a smart move for squad balance.

Oar is busted. Thats why he's here.
Pain said post the Victory game "im f**king sick of it" and who can blame the bloke having to put up with us .

He's been a good player for the club, I wish him all the best.

Now, has anyone else noticed we signed a bunch of injury prone players this season?

Wonder if that was a strategy, get them cheap as chips. Nevermind the fact they rarely play more then 3 games in a row.

Pain came around after the Roar game to 16 with his head down and we promptly started up a ''At least he gives a shit'' chant. Goes to a new team, fresh start in his home state. It's a no brainer. Wishing him well.

Pain has had a very good season. I wasn't a big fan prior to this year. He is my player of the year (Judas can do one). If its true i wish him well.

Wasn't sure where to post this so my apologies in advance as it's not directly related to the squad. I'm an accountant by trade, so this certainly piqued my interest. The lack of financial/business sense could bode for more scary times ahead...

Hidden at the end of this article:

"THE Mariners’ hapless season is having repercussions within the club, with the departure of longstanding finance chief Kathryn Duncan. Also a director of the club, Duncan was a powerful figure who played a significant role in approving football decisions on cost grounds.

With a new and active board of directors in place, expect the focus now to switch to the football department after a such a catastrophic season on the pitch."

Surely Vulvey has some metrics he has to reach in his contract? Would CCM be so inept as give him a 2 year deal with no out? (Ok thats rhetorical).
The football department is as big a dumpster fire as the rest of the club and needs a huge shake up

Hey elite. Funny you should mention this. I was at the COE today & talking to a member of the mariners staff who addressed this. Apparently Katheryn Duncan Communicated directly to MC regarding how much to be spending on the squad and players, more often than not tightening his purse strings for him. They also alluded that without her at the club, money will (hopefully) flow more freely toward player signings.

I got the impression at one of the fan forums that MC and Kathryn were kindred spirits. However at the open Mike night he seemed to lay the blame for the slowness of development sqarely at her feet saying it was her responsibility now.

Very interesting - thanks for the insight mate. If that's the case, it begs the question why was there a limitation advised if we had a greater capacity to spend (evidently the opinion of the staff member you spoke with).

In the same article.....
FANS of perma-tanned English coaches will be delighted to hear that former Hull City boss Phil Brown, now coaching Puna City in the Indian Super League, is angling for a job in the A-League. Brown once forced his Hull players to sit on the pitch at halftime while he gave them a dressing down, and celebrated promotion by grabbing the stadium mike and singing to the crowd.

Would the players be sat on the Hyundai thing in the pitch at half time or under it while he bollocked them?

I thought Painy might try out the championship, but sure why not, as long as it suits his pocket

To be expected. Wish him every success.

Been a great example of effort, passion and skill that if more young players (looking at you da Silva and Co) emulated, they’d be a lot better off.
