ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Not really, the FFA meeting is far more serious than people think. Hence the deafening silence

I might be reading this wrong - if you think otherwise please say so.

The meeting is with FFA and the Council. You get the feeling it is a game of brinkmanship from the FFA and the Mariners telling Council that their help is needed or they will lose their anchor tenant. Council apparently still has not approved the extra road into the COE so even if we get new investors that will still be held up. Apparently the Council is more open to the someone else running the stadium, though does that mean we get them?

As I understand the club is also meeting with FFA due to the unprecedented run of losses.

Shaun posted it on this forum a few days back, likely in the CCM Fans & club thread.

@UnitedsNo9 posted

The sentence that most caught my attention on reading the letter was the following:

"However, as a result of immediate pressures, the club is looking to accelerate key aspects of this review not yet implemented with the expectation of presenting to Football Federation Australia by the end of January".

I immediately started wondering what these immediate pressures are. Is he referring to just realising the fans have had enough. Or is this a hint at FFA etc directly asking us to explain our relevance and justify our existence in the league. Still a bit cryptic. Some have touched on this already, but the term "immediate pressures" to me really suggests something other than concern about fan outcry.
To which Shaun replied
The immediate pressures is simply a direct effect of the table position and no wins.

Ersan Gulum is a free agent....no visa... Slot straight into CB
And
It seems Mitch Duke is too ...
Oh and have a chop at mile for the rest of the season.

Reckon that would win us some games

I’m certain I read that Ersan signed for an Adelaide NPL club. So basically retired.
And Mile spoke highly of the coast to Ross but mustn’t think that highly because he won’t come back.

Just looked it up. Whittlesea in NPL Vic. Capt/coach since Nov.
Still would be worth a sniff. Only 31.

He's been ferociously outspoken about how good Kennedy and Hoole are for us. What a hill to die on, with those two thieves by your side!
