ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Building players like Izzo up to that 50 game mark only for them to leave sucks. They are just getting established and
used to playing in the league and are development gets us nothing but a good keeper to try and score against

Roy did ok with regardless of our position on the table in the last 2 years.
8 goals last year with an 8 match suspension
11 goals this year (3 pens), so 7 from general play in 27 matches with 0 assists & the second most off-sides in the league.
Definitely not outstanding but ok for an average striker.
Although I`ll miss his passion & enjoyed his press on the opposition I think we may be able to do better with our next striker.

Izzo, on the other hand, had a disastrous 2015-16 but came back strongly this year to be one of our best players.

I wish them both well.
As professional sportsmen they have to look after themselves & their families first.
I certainly wouldn`t single either of them out for a booing next season no matter who they played for.

Good luck to Roy, but going to a team worse off than the Mariners and without a Coach , a big risk imo.
Oh well opens a Visa spot, let's see what Paolo turns up from his overseas trip.

I've read some shit on here tonight about Roy! The fact that 3 or 4 teams wanted him shows up some of the drivel written on here.

He did well for us in a shit team. He's not a world beater but he is very decent for HAL standard.

I wish him and his family well (and the same for Izzo). However I will give them both some stick next season.

We can do better in both positions..............lets hope we do...........no more cheap rubbish.

Is there any chance of someone coming from our Everton partnership or is this still a pipe Dream?

There is scope for A-League teams to pay up to $200,000 outside the salary cap, as part of a ‘loyalty player allowance’. I wasn't aware of that clause.

Surely Monty qualifies! Not that we are likely to spend up to the salary cap if things are still tight. :(

Yeah was part of a few tweaks last year to advantage the big clubs

Loyalty Players – A Club can spend up to a collective $200,000 across any number of Players that have given 5 or more consecutive seasons of service to the Club. A portion of a Loyalty Player’s contract value is excluded from the Salary Cap based on a progressive scale from 25% (5th continuous season) to 50% (10th continuous season onwards); - See more at: http://www.a-league.com.au/about#sthash.KyAKDSgJ.dpuf

Would only be Monty's 5th year this year I think so wouldn't qualify and then if did only 25% of the contract would count so you'd want the other 75% to be worth it and we are a salary floor club not tricky bonuses

Unfortunately I'm not surprised. Leaving him out of the squad entirely for the Scum game told the story. So, I think, did playing Izzo when everybody and his dog knew he was leaving. Ivan undoubtedly wanted to cut his ties quickly so he could take any other offer that showed up. I wish him well.

I wouldn`t hold my breath on that one...
Methinks we`ll have more chance of someone from Belgium, England or Italy considering PO`s connections'
