ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Id love to see Bresciano play for the mariners...but no more value adding for him so at the end of the day there he wont fit the, selling club approach mariners has to have to keep our heads above water.

I think Bresciano would be great.
A mature player with plenty of overseas experience, helping to mentor the young players that we already have.
Even if he picks up the odd injury he could still be of value & be outside of the salary cap.

And maybe he might be prepared to play for the $$$ we can afford. Maybe being a marquee might give him an ego boost which will over-ride the money.

Just saw a fan comment on CCM website (under the article "Walmsley talks preseason") about "former Sydney fc player Blake Powell set to sign. Should be a great signing for CCM ."
Don't know anything about him. Anyone know anything?

We are probably the only club in the A League who operates under the salary cap; can't see us changing for old man Bresc

Very quick; Walmsley is looking for pace up front.
Another example of hoping to find diamonds in the bargain bins at BI-LO. I have no problem with this, Mossy tried it with the NSWPL. Poscoliero and Trifiro have been ok, but not match winners.
I would like us to hire some genuine quality though.

He is a product of Hoàng Anh Gia Lai’s academy, a partner club of Arsenal.
In 2012 he had the opportunity to train with other 3 Vietnamese players, with Arsenal U17 in London.
Has represented his country at U19 level.
He was the top-scorer of the 2014 U19 Asian Cup qualification.
He was awarded as the MVP of the 2014 King Cup in Brunei.
In his country he’s considered the Vietnamese Messi.

● Technically very good w/ the ball at his feet, taking player's on & beating them.
● Good acceleration with & without the ball.
● Like a lot of good dribblers, likes to 'play' his way out of the tight areas.
● For a diminutive player 5'7", has the power to hit the back of the net from the edges of the 18 (which I think is an area of our game that we've been sorely lacking in seasons gone by)

Other than that, if Walmsley can work on 'getting his head-up' with ball at his feet going forward + 'school' him to realease more often&quickly, would make an excellent attacking option. (@the right $$)

Attacking Midfielder?.......maybe, if he can deal with Muscat & Co.'s instructions of "Kick-Him"
Exciting Winger?........most definitely.

"V.League 1's Hoang Anh Gia Lai, who owns the talented player, have confirmed the interest in Phuong,
but said they had no interest in selling his contract."

could just be negotiation banter of course

Like the first signs of spring the sight of the lads at training brings a cheer to the heart, even if you need a pinch of salt to believe all the squad are there. It would be a few years since Mitch Austin did some extensive pool work

I think Matt Simon would have a field day with the list of wingers/providers we have signed.
We now have players that can cross a decent ball but as for finishers ..... still a bit light on.
