Happy with Vernes, happy with Mane; both positive attacking options. I like the way we are shaping up, I think we will be a high energy pacy attacking unit. Write off the Mariners if you dare!

So just a top drawer striker to go with Simon and Duke and we are ready to tear the Scummers a new one.

Based on last year's performances by Simon and Duke, the Jets currently look like having the 'sharper pencil'. So a top draw striker would certainly add the final touch. We look strong in the midfield and back line, but I hope our 'pointy end' will take advantage of the service they should get.

Duke 3 goals in 19 starts plus 10 games as sub; Simon 2 goals 11 in games plus 15 games as sub.
I had not realised how awful they were - 5 goals in 30 starts between them is a decidedly unpointy end! The eraser on the Jets' pencil is sharper than that!

For any other team maybe, but Bosnar says differently about the other end of the Jester pencil ;)

Exactly ball doesn't even need to get to the strikers against the Jets. Spaghetti fingers lets em in from every where.

Duke will be fine when someone puts him a spot where he is actually close to the goal. Also think once he buries 2 or 3 in a row his confidence will rise significantly & half chances that are ending at the yacht club will be lighting cannons.

To be fair Dukey was playing out of position last season for most of it and got bugger all service when he did get a chance up front. If he gets chances he will score plenty. He knows where the goal is.

There is a chance we keep MC ... and use Fity & Mane up front and maybe Vernes ..

Assume Mane & Duke up front ... behind them MC, Kim, Fity, Vernes, Kalic & Caceres .. or bring Mane back and use Fity up front ... we would have a very creative midfield... the Spanish option to make Fozzie happy heaps of attacking mids ...

Good point. There certainly was some disconnect between mids and forwards last year once Flores got crocked. However, a striker makes it his business to be in the right spot. Watch Berisha and our Macca. They hunt the ball wherever it is. Unless under strict instructions to hold position, forwards should not be standing forlornly waiting for something.

True, both Simon and Duke were given f**k all support last season. Neither was in great form but Drogba would have struggled with the shit we served up last year.

OK Middy, you got me.
I`ve checked the roster & there`s no MC as a player on Wiki.
Mike Charlsworth doesn`t make sense.
Your following post makes no mention of McGlinchy so it can`t be him.
Who the hell is MC?
