ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Not so sure about Flores. (All overheard didn't speak direct - but i was very close)

After last night he was playing the political game with a very straight bat but was to political for me.

Heaps of q's on the Knee - it's good -
5-6 months minimum would see him coming back in the off season - He was very non-specific about any detail at all

Are you coming back next year - I'd love to I love it here - But there was a sense of I don't right the contracts in his tone. It was I will tell you what u want to hear - but it certainly doesn't sound close.
Could be us not having the $$$
Could be wary of an injured Knee for the money.
Could want to be somewhere else.

It will be long & drawn out IMO but I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't around

Nice guy who spent the whole 2nd half in the stands with the girls team that he must have had something to do with. good stuff. Thought he was going to save the band & tell off security but no just kept walking back to the otherside
He is lovely to watch but inconsistent; I can't see the Mariners breaking the bank to keep him. He would have to make a serious compromise on his deal if he genuinely wanted to stay.

ok so whats the story with isaka cernak . looks fit but gets no game time .
His last roll of the dice...
6th a-league club...and you would think there won't be a 7th if he doesn't make an impression.
I like him, I rate him..but I'm worried he will end up playing state league

Think Arnold would have done well with him...moss is yet to develop a player...it will be interesting to see how moss compares to Arnold in that aspect!

Came off the bench when he first arrived but has been working off a small injury, was on the bench for ACL game. his value may come to light next season if flores takes off and trifiro doesn't get a contract

Hasn't been in the match days squads until tues night. Wonder if he was injured?
Then the game required defending when a sub was required.
Trifino & Cernak where attacking options left on the bench

Cernak was in the ACL squad on Tuesday. He was having a good laugh with Duke at half time when the benches came out for a warm up

Quote from moss...

“Marcos is an extremely popular member of our dressing room and is a favourite with the fans and everyone involved with the club,” Central Coast Mariners Head Coach Phil Moss said.

“However when Marcos sustained his injury we needed to bring in quality reinforcements in his area of the pitch, and we now have a number of players in our squad who can play in the attacking midfield role.”

“We have Kim Seung-yong, Glen Trifiro and Anthony Caceres, plus Anthony Kalik who has been at the Australian Institute of Sport will be eligible for action in that position with us next season.”

“So I need to balance the squad by signing and or retaining players in other positions, and unfortunately with a squad size of 23 and a salary cap I have had to make the difficult decision not to re-sign Marcos beyond this season.”

“Hopefully our early and transparent decision will provide Marcos with the best possible opportunity to negotiate with other interested clubs so he can settle his long-term playing future,” he said.

None of those players can play AMC like Flores can. Kim is more of a wing, Caceres is better deeper, Kalik is still very young, and as good as Triffy is he doesn't have the touch or vision that Marcos has.

Had to break the news to my wife this morning - she is DEVASTATED! - Apart from the physical attributes and personality, she's been well won over by his seeming fast integration into the club and support of the the club ethics.
Personally, I'm with her on that but going on our early performance, I think it might acually be a positive for the team. I think the boys have shown that we can't have nice things ;)

This will come back to bite us on the arse big time. I can only assume this decision is based on $$$. One of the nicest blokes in Aussie football and with talent to burn and we couldn't find a way to keep him. Bummer.

Maybe - but we have 20 signed for next year and need a second keeper, Bosnar or another CB and a top quality striker.

If we actually go to 26 with 3 youngsters outside the cap and squad size then I can see Sim coming in as left sided cover, Trifro as midfield cover and Matty as an extra striker.
