ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Probably just drop him. Needs someone to stroke the ego, king Mont. Speaking if which Hibs bottom...how's that new manager working out?! Must be time for yet another one.
Their forums are funny, some on there saying sacking monty was a mistake and atleast he could get more out of the players than David Gray

What are the expectations around January transfer window? Any possibility of picking up a striker?

Also any news on injury replacements?

I intimated that I was over being positive in the Yokohama game thread and suggested I was going to say what I have not, in the interests of remaining positive, said so far.

Meerkat made a very good comparison when saying that the team is looking like a machine with broken parts or bits in the wrong places. This starting side of Jacko’s is not up to taking us to the finals this year.

What the Yokohama game did last night was to really highlight the deficiencies in our team that may not appear so obvious against an A-League opponent.

Starting at the back with the keeper.

Our defence is not solid. DPC is showing heaps of promise but is very young, and a fair way yet from being a starting A League level keeper. His distribution is hesitant and sometimes dangerous. This will improve with experience as will his ability to rule the box. There have been too many times both he and a defender are obviously lacking in communication. He needs to call clearly, early and loudly. It can be difficult for a young player to order experienced defenders. However, it is vital that he takes control. If he can keep, and build his confidence in what will be a difficult season,

He will make mistakes but is definitely one of the positives so far this season.

More to come……

I hope so, but I think it depends on what Charlesworth's ambitions for the season now are. If we don't pick up any new players or move on any underperforming ones, that shows an attitude of weather the storm, give young players experience and go again next year.

I wouldn’t mind some movement both ways, Ben10 may be spot on. Nothing in and nothing out and we tolerate a poor season however provide valuable experience for next season. It takes at least three seasons for young players to reach good levels. We are a few smart seasons off being competitive for trophies as long as we get recruitment right over the next few years. Which is looking questionable at the moment. If we have the poor season I’m expecting how long will Jacko and Danny hang around. Unfortunately when we start descending we normally do it at lighting speed.

Lets be realistic, we are out of contention to progress to the next ACLE stage and therefore no real "financial" justification for MC to open up the cheque book. There will be no new signings in Jan but i think we will see a different team in the new year. Sainsbury will make a big difference across the back. MDP brings a fresh dynamic in the front third. ATM Kuol and Edmo do not have young guys chomping at the bit to dislodge them from the team. I expect that when De Lima and Durate are back they will force themselves into the team.
As for the A League season, we are not far behind and aside from the die hards, only the toilet seat winner is remembered. All we need to do is get some momentum (once we get a fully fit side) get into the 6 and anything is possible #believe
