Overall, the main problem is the lack of experienced leaders in vital positions. Add to that a lot of injuries to many up and coming players and we are in a tough situation.
Many have commented that Jacko's recruitment as good as Mony's. Probably unfair as Monty had Sergio with his network. That is his problem to deal with. Also it could be that when RP left the till was empty.

For this season I would like to see are youth given as many minutes as possible to develop with an eye to the future. Throw them in, put up with the mistakes, look after them.

The next day, in the 200 m final, Gout ran 20.04 seconds. This time ranked as the second fastest U18 performance of all time, and made Gout only the second U18 athlete to surpass Usain Bolt's record in this category. He also broke the Australian record, held since 1968 by Peter Norman.

Kid is special. If he can fix his starts he will be just like bolt.

With Charlesworth back in charge anything is possible. We do need some speed 😂

I think Paull is capable of making it at A-League level, but he requires a level of playing time investment that we haven't had to give to a central defender in a while.

Triantis, Kaltak, Hall are really the outliers in how quickly central defenders can make the step up. They all had relatively seamless steps up, but a trajectory akin to Rowles is the more normal A-League development cycle.

That being said I agree with earlier posters that Windust and Larson looked better prospects but Paull is who we have committed too.

Big unit goes a long way in selection of a CB... rightly or wrongly. There have been times his height and bulk have made a difference.

The squad is getting decimated by injuries, feel for Edmo but he was well and truly out of form. Here is hoping the time off has him coming back bigger, faster, stronger (mentally and physically)
