If we have no Farrell.

Doka————Hall———-Kaltak————Roux
Dipizio——-Max——Niz——Tapp———Torres
————————-Edmo—————————-

Steele ——> Roux/Tapp
Theo ——> Torres/Dipizio
Reec ——> Edmo
Barcellos ——> Torres/Dipizio

Paul ——> Last resort

* 5 midfield to prepare for when we play Sydney and Phoenix in finals.

* Doka and Roux can work on overlaps rather than being the main one trying to receive the ball wide from CB with an opposition player up their arse.
(Massive tactical floor we have wide fullbacks to high when CB’s have ball. Wide backs should receive it more square get to feet of midfield and receive back on the run as a 1/2)

* Niz to move forward when the moments strikes or turn and take ball.

* If we have Farrell has a massive flow on effect for our depth.
I’ve noticed Jacko uses storm as the more defensive side of the two with doka. Allowing Doke to push forward if it’s available

Doka partnered brilliantly with Torres against Macarthur them Storm was on the left against Sydney to defend Lolley.
Then swapped back against City and then swapped again during the match putting storm on Tilio in the 2nd half and pushed Doka into right wing for 2nd half of the 1st half to get the ball out more but that left Paull with no protection and that was dangerous.

I think we need to stick to the 3 man midfield while we are missing Farrell.

Which side Doka and Storm defend will possibly depend on the opposition’s attack

Steeley can always do a job at left back and also provide the balance of being left footed down that side.
Jacko prefers Steele in the midfield which i think Steele prefers too.

That was a stag/monty thing. He can do it but i think Jacko is more likely to go Paull over Steele.

Oh ofcourse, just saying he’s not a bad emergency option LB as he’s shown in the past.
I think if Jacko starts paull it’ll be a back 5 again.
Paull doesn’t have the speed to play FB.
He definitely is available cover agreed. Just don’t think it will come unless something happens to Doka or Storm on more than a sub during a game basis.

It’s good to have the flexibility

Certain correlation between Paull/Wilson and starting the season 0.4.
No doubt but you have to play him a little as you don’t want to run Storm and Doka into the ground if possible.

I think Jacko sneaks him in where he feels comfortable. That will not be anywhere near the Nix but possibly the Asian games.

Jacko knows he is out of position and also has been spot on in who is up to it. There is also probably a bit of pressure to integrate him as he had good youth pedigree just lacks some smarts and some CB mongrel. Also just appears to lack a bit of competitiveness. Probably not the case but a bit to casual for me

Wilson is clearly floored and rightly hasn’t been seen again until he improves his game (which is hard to do).

Dean Larson would have been even better tbh. I think he was capable of stepping up to A-League level as a CB (Paull was the 3rd best CB in last year's NPL squad in my view) but also could (and did) do a competent job at LB when needed.
A competent job at LB in the NPL obviously is not the standard needed in the ALM.

Agreed. But more ALM ready than Paull was on the start of the year as a CB and better than him in the NPL last year in my view, and has proved he can move across to LB without looking like a fish out of water In the context of the discussion, that we are going to be stretched at LB and are looking for stop-gap solutions (and Paull looks sketchy there), he would have been handy to have around right now. Wasn't proposing him as a long term Faz replacement.

Sorry I read that as Paull doing a competent job at LB in the NPL.
