As a CM Nizzy probably needs even more time proving he is capable of filling such an important position in a higher calibre team.

We should also consider that some young players these days actually might not want the ‘overseas dream’.

Faz, Miller, etc might be more than happy going for the highest $$$ they can get within driving distance of their homes and girlfriends.

I do also believe Nizzy would be more grateful and thankful by the opportunity given by the Mariners and understands more than the others how lucky he his to be doing something he lives and breathes.

I hope Hall and Faz stay with Nizzy for next 2 years.

Wonderful news that we have secured Nizzy for another two years.

He is a fantastic player and deserves to have fully cemented his place in our starting eleven.

As others have said if he contintues the same pace of development he will soon be in high demand either in the A-League or overseas.

If we can get an experienced quality central midfielder next to him we will go close to having the best midfield in the A-League.

Max Ballard's form at the of the season was a revelation. Bring in top drawer CAM and we will be in a very good place. Nizzy is one of my fav players so i'm stoked with the extension.

Ollie irrelevant? He and Staj resurrected the team the season before last and though he has gone and is not relevant now his absence in the last part of the season proved the making of Ballard ( and to a lesser extent Steele). Also Nizzy was able to give freer rein to his talents with Ollie absent so I think he was very relevant whether on the field and when he wasn't.

Who?
Irrelevant footnote in our history
He’s the most talented footballer to come from the coast in recent memory. And arguably the most respectable football career for any coastie. He deserves respect. Whatever has happened has happened. Atleast very least he it didn’t play out in the public eye. He didn’t drag the football club through the mud to get what he wanted. IMO it’s hard to argue against him deserving a big salary in this league. But that doesn’t matter now.
His return 2 seasons ago was the catalyst for the football club’s resurrection. And the first half of this past season in a lot of games he literally carried the team, go back and watch the games if you want to argue.

we were EXTREMELY lucky that the likes of max, niz and even steeley stepped up massively to scrape into finals.
Now we need to sign another experienced CM to help the young lads, because those boys will have fluctuating form going forward, who knows how much that’s going to cost.

I don't really know what went down, have seen and heard a few different stories.

Regardless Ollie is a legend of the club and the coast and will be missed.
Agree, I'm not going to put the hate on Oli. Football is a business and he took a gamble that the team would fall apart without him and it didn't. Now they both amicably part ways, this happens all the time and I don't really need to know the full details to take a side. It will not be the last incident of this nature either.

Yeah nah - that’s not luck at all, that’s succession planning and good management from Mont. And it was hardly scraping into finals - from memory we only lost 1 game after we dropped him back in March.
Yeah it's funny how only loosing 1 in 13 games turns into scraping into the finals. I've heard that alot. We were the form team heading into finals and were very unlucky to get Adelaide at home the longest away trip in the finals and somewhere we've not got the best recent form. (Or memories)

He became irrelevant when he chose to not make himself available for selection
