ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

WHO DARES WINS Mate
.........
If he was to be played in defence I`d go 3 at the back with Matty in front of them (to keep him out of the box ) as much as possible
4 midfielders and 2 up front ie. 3 1 4 2.

.................
yep....that's what I'd go for with someone like Matty at the back.....and I agree actually... "Give it a go in the trial matches and see what happens, with 4 out of 5 wooden spoons what do we have to lose?... ".... exactly.....nuffink to lose mate !

Joey Jevtic and Jake Jovanovski. Joey is still over in Serbia, playing second or third tier I think. Jova came back and was playing Academy 20s this year, scored 2 goals in their grand final win over Hakoah.

is Joey still on loan from us or signed over there?

What happened with the notion/suggestion from MC that we may be able to sell our visa spots if not used?

We know the cap min/max, wonder what the other squad rules/allowances that came to be?

3 goals in 7 games in NPL2 this season in a side that won the league and GF - that made him our 5th top scorer behind Matt Cahill, Damian Tsekenis, Harry McCarthy and Mikey Katsoulis, and equal with Jordan Smylie and Max Ballard. 2 of those goals were pens. I was a big fan of signing him for the NYL and he had a good season there with 5 goals, but was very disappointing during the NPL season and his A League appearances were quite frankly underwhelming. He is strong, reasonably quick and can finish but his work rate is poor (compared to the other NPL strikers) and his game awareness and tactical nous is non-existent. On the plus side - at least he is not DRD.
Please sign a top striker so that Alou and the other young guys can learn and benefit from their experience and we can use Matty as an impact player off the bench without putting the pressure on him to lead the line for 90 mins.

Not sure he started all those games in NPL2. Maybe minutes played would give a better indication. I think his performances in A-league also showed the gap there is to make up transitioning from NPL to A-league. If we don't put experienced players and mentors around these younger ones we are only doing half the job of developing them and leaving them to flounder. I agree we need to sign a top striker. Also important to put some quality around Dan Hall and Matthew Hatch for the same reasons. I also hope we keep hold of Max Ballard. Loads of potential there.
