Rowles and Murray renewed without a new manager

Fairly different situation there - not visa players, relatively cheap and no injury concerns. I think they were pretty simple calls to make.

Edit: and I heard Staj staying on was a big factor for Rowles sticking around.

f**king beyond livid.

Agree that a new coach should pick his own players. Hey, Mulvey got to pick 14 odd.
But f**king honestly, when your team has been one of the biggest shambles in league history and you’re still lucky enough to have a couple players even the top sides would love to have and they for some crazy reason want to stay and help... common logical sense to 99.9% of football people in the world would say “yep here’s a contract, cheers”
And to apparently not even make contact is to spit in the face of a true professional.

The silence from the club is deafening. What are they doing 9-5 Mon-Fri?

Apparently Mulvey was having coffee and cake in Terrigal everyday from12pm.

From the mariners members page :

This morning I sadly witnessed Tom Hiariej and his partner entering Gosford Station laden with suitcases and other luggage. His friend who had dropped them off told me that Tom was off, and leaving the Coast for good. He also said that no contract offer had been made by CCM at all. VERY SAD, Tommy H gone!!!!!!

Without trying to open some old woulds pertaining to our formation or creation or whatever name we care to give it.

Effectively The Northern Spirit from the NSL and a bunch of Coasties put a plan in. We got in in spite of the SBS complaints to our entry.

What I would like to revise is what happened to "The Northern Spirit" started off with a bang massive crowds in the days when the NSL was averaging slightly under 4k a game, take of Perth Glory, The Northern Spirit and that average fell to about 2.3 K, then take out South Melbourne and the average well under 2K.

TNS were purchased by Rangers who managed to piss off every other Scottish & English team supporter and crowds halved, also the decision to do that was made by a Rangers person in Scotland. Crowds fell further the next year the NSL was going nowhere Rangers sold to atight arse and crowds started to fall to other teams levels and even lower.

We have in MC, the two critical issues that took TNS to its knees we have a tight arsed owner trying to manage from England. It simply does not work, never has, never will, and if history is anything equally applies to most businesses.

Sometimes the CEO has to earn that title and that means doing detailed analysis and presenting to the board that analysis.

Shaun is acting like a local branch manager who takes orders from head office, and waits for head office to send over one of their managers to give him his budget, procedure manual, and running instructions for the next few months.

Its time for meaningful action, with early decisions. Key is the budget.

Shaun, is the club in a position to say what the wage spent will be, does our new coach have the financial support needed.

Yes - he is off contract from 31/5. If he can get back to fitness he may be picked up by someone. With a new baby he needs to have some income coming in so good luck to him.

Very big lack of respect if that is true with Tom. And what a lack of foresight!!!

Fair enough if don’t want to keep him, that’s fine from a football perspective.
But for f**ks sake some common courtesy and customer service could mean the difference in him recommending us to other international players and keep those connections and contacts active.

Very very poor if true. Even give him or organise him a lift to the airport. Pay him 300k or more but then can’t pay for a $100 lift to the airport and a parting gift, etc.

Pure numpty move if true.
We really really need a proper salesperson/recruiter that understands the importance of communication and contacts/connections.

With Krishna out of sight at the moment for us.
Could we be making a big dollar play for Jem and Le-fondre to couple up?

Maybe we signed Murray as right wing that can score the occasional goal.
And surround with cheaper players like the rumours suggest.

ALF is with the Smurfs till 2021. If they are to go anywhere together it will be there.

Spot on. I've said previously on here that the small club needs to be the smart club and get the little things right. Common courtesy costs nothing and it's bugger all to get a staff member to give them a lift or book a spot on the shuttle. But even if you subscribe to the "well we paid him 300k he can book his own shuttle" mindset the poor treatment can't be excused. You either want him, you don't or you're still working on your squad plans - tell the bloke so he can make a decision. Our performance has given us a bad first impression so the last thing we need is former players crapping on a potential deal because the club has been rude to them and they tell another player the truth.

Shaun cops a bit on here and quite possibly for a lot of stuff outside his scope/control but that sort of thing is something he can control and influence unless he was specifically told not to respond for whatever reason..

Sheridan (among others) have left the nix. Wouldn't mind seeing him join us if we don't have someone better lined up. As a starting player and a full preseason behind him I think he'd do well and has the smarts to get Murray more service. Probably get a few disagrees wanting someone better but I'm also thinking about who we can actually afford.

I`m thinking maybe this is rock bottom.
No respect for players, no respect for fans, no respect for our Club history.
Shaun has to bear the brunt of our anger, surely he could have communicated with Tom....
